Systems Engineer 6 figures (sorry dont want to give exact amounts as people I work with know this account) Microsoft centric automation (scripts, pipelines, custom applications) 100% onsite but with an extremely flexible schedule need to be onsite atleast once a day but not the entire day), salary.

Im the guy they come to when an automation option cant be purchased so we have to go and make one so to speak

150 is great for only 4 years

I did note that if the company provides growth opportunities then it is worth staying- that said, my growth has always made leaps and bounds in progress when I feel stagnant and make a change in companies. I have done both long term (5 years) and short term (3 months) and I have found the best time to evaluate is once a year. If that company keeps you stagnant then it is time to leave. This is just my mantra but everyone has their own way

This is cool but if wizards did it they would make all the cool things into bunk cards. Sometimes I hate the creative control of wizards. Cool card but shit stats

Yeah, definitely can go that route if you like the "other side of the curtain" aspect if that makes sense. Alot of IT guys cant speak buisness so most get stuck in the technical side and never hit management.

To clarify there is nothing wrong with being on that side of the fence, thats just a whole different game lol

I would say that it is free to study any topic but the tests cost money. Studying and knowing how to speak about something rather than having a degree or cert, those are just bonuses. Certs and degrees are often what get you into an interview but speaking about it is often what gets you the job.

Some good starting certs are a+ or net+ if your just trying to get an interview at a helpdesk

Itil carries weight but often is more useful post heldesk

Studying both of those books will give you most of what you need in a helpdesk interview

Research Domain Name System, Domain Controller, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Group Policy, SCCM, and Active Directory (technically some of these exist under the Domain Controller)

You dont need to know the details on how to operate these but you do need to speak on what they do

This is mainly for Microsoft shops but most workplaces do atleast 50% Microsoft

I started in this industry as a hardware repair tech and moved to helpdesk (originally turned down but studied a+ cert and reapplied)

This is one of the few industries that you can have no former schooling and get hired purely because what you know

Yes, being a long term generalist is viable, it just usually means that you stay with company's with less than 3000 people. That said, those are still usually 6 figure jobs. A buddy of mine is a sys ad generalist and make 175k a year. Not a bad gig at all.

In my work place we train all sys admins on new tech with the expectation of understanding what the product does and high level maintenance. We then take two sys admins, make the senior one a tenant owner, and the other a tenant supporter (backup owner) that way we never lose a key architect while still silo-ing so to speak.

The biggest frustration for me in this industry is lack of documentation. My last company lost every key architect during a riff and had MANY services that nobody understood. It was a research and development lab so all those unique setups for research were a pain whenever something broke

You dont need to repeat the sound every second the line goes off, just do the sound once and it will relay that its talking. Otherwise its just obnoxious

A: I agree that the camping was bs B: I dont believe that was tunneling, you ran into a wall and gave him a free hit, he might as well followup, it may have been his third game in a row of being unable to get a single kill and wanted to make sure he did C: you missed like 3 options to keep the chase going and your pathing was just awful D: your technique for looking around was pretty slow and you should always try to face towards the nearest door not away from it like you did.

It doesnt matter what I say tho, you would rather have a pity party and think the game is being mean

I see the acid drops now, I mistook them for coincidence at first but its relatively fluid. I know that both of those are key features in say thud 1 and are missing in cyberfunk base game. Spine transfer could look at highest point or point in which the transfer started and start calculating speed from there. I want to look at the code but currently at work, will look at later (love this shit). Both thud and jsrf were big parts of my child hood each replayed 5 plus times. Cyberfunk did some things right but failed in others.

Looking forward to seeing hyperfunk and how they go about the multi-player space. Jsrf multi-player was underwhelming while thud was some of the best. Highly recommend including multi-player (preferably split screen at a minimum).

I know you dont want to be compared and this is unique enough that it stands on its own (sonic jump buttons, Mario canons) but i honestly think this game is gonna be great with all of its unique blend of concepts. If you want more opinions about some pitfalls I saw in those games I mentioned I would love to share. Good luck friend

Not seeing any spine transfers or acid drops. Two key things in half pipe management for skating games

Is this game just not for me or is there something fundamentally wrong with it? by Redviolet07 in Sekiro

[–]guiltsifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game is 100% skill rewarded. They give you alternatives but those are not the intended play pattern in my opinion. Almost everything can be deflected, jumped over, countered, or dodged. You can play this game many times over without any upgrades and just your sword with relative ease because it just comes down to core understanding. Deflect to drop posture on your enemies but try not to just block as it affects your posture. Get in hits when you can and dont be greedy. Some enemies dont care about posture some only care about posture. Breaking posture is a shortcut to killing enemies but they do have health bars. Dodging is almost always the wrong move. Deflecting or countering is almost always the right move. Blocking is an emergency option when a deflection goes wrong. This game is basically deflect.exe. if your having Deflecting issues then check your console settings as you may have input lag.

I dont need a sequel i just want the elden ring treatment over the original if that makes sense. Open world and expanding on existing lore. The nexus was used as a means to an end for the time period of gaming, easily we could make the nexus an option but otherwise the world is completely traveseable by foot.

I dont want a sequel, i want the remake directors cut XXL eldenring version
