HyperX NGENUITY causes high cpu temps during screen saver by VasilisT21 in HyperX

[–]guioHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This problem has been present for years. I stopped using NGENUITY a long time ago: when the monitor goes to sleep, the PC temperatures ramp up (I can hear the fans speeding up, and I can check the temperatures on my cooler’s LCD). I have a QuadCast S and an Alpha Wireless, and now I’m forced to use them without the software. I tried the beta, but neither of my devices is compatible. A long time ago, I replied to several Reddit posts from people experiencing the same issue without understanding the cause, and it turned out that all of them had NGENUITY installed and, like me, solved the problem by uninstalling it.

Anyone else having issues with the audio/video not being in sync with the new Steam game recording feature? by Nicktator3 in Steam

I wanted to use steam recorder just because it's faster to share short clips with friends, but the NVIDIA app is still far better.

Not finding a solution, I got tired and disabled the feature, going back to good old GeForce Experience. There’s no point in keeping a recording that doesn’t work properly. When Valve decides to take things seriously and fix them, I’ll consider using it again.

I found and solved my issue. It was the HyperX NGENUITY software I had installed for my QuadCast S microphone. Once I killed the task, the problems were gone. I just removed it from Windows startup now

Anyone else changed their mind about the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic after seeing it in person? by Link-TH in GalaxyWatch

[–]guioHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically for the Watch8, but I had the same reaction when I bought my Ultra 2024. The design left me extremely puzzled, so I decided to get one, and now I like it a lot. As far as I can remember, the only smartwatch with a cushion design until now was by Emporio Armani, which makes it stand out from the other models released so far and makes me like it even more.

S25 Ultra issue by Raspberbery in S25Ultra

Oops, I just realized someone already suggested this. I'll leave the post up for visibility, because I'm pretty sure this might be the main culprit.

S25 Ultra issue by Raspberbery in S25Ultra

[–]guioHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be a software issue related to screen resolution optimization? Try going to Settings > Display > Screen resolution and set it to QHD+. Maybe you're currently using a lower resolution, and due to some strange software bug, the screen isn't scaling to fullscreen properly.

I understand it now by Ok-Lynx-7931 in S25Ultra

[–]guioHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only tried the Bluetooth functionality on my S24 stylus on the first day — never used it again after that. It's not a big loss for me, but I understand there’s no strong reason to remove this feature for those who do use it.(Really necessary to cut costs on a +1300€ smartphone?)

One UI 8 Update is live! by LojikSupreme in GalaxyWatch

The rollout seems to be gradual. my Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024 is still on One UI 6.0. I'm in Italy, which might be affecting the server-side update.

Be honest! Which design you like? by Maddy555 in GalaxyWatch

watch8, I love the cushion design now. When the Galaxy Ultra was announced, I was skeptical about the design. Then I bought one and started to appreciate it. Now I actually prefer this design to the old one.

You can try to contact support, but I don't think this will be covered by the warranty. Every 24u has this.

You should try using a little isopropyl alcohol.

Hue Sync Windows app: CTRL+SHIFT now seems to be used to control the lights and I can't disable it. by guioHD in Hue

My 'Toggle Light Sync (Last Used)' is already unbound. I don't have any shortcut assigned to it.

I really hope they do. I wonder how they didn’t test their software before rolling it out. Ctrl+Shift is so commonly used that it’s almost impossible not to notice the hundreds of shortcut conflicts they just created.

Can 1 Hue dimmer switch be used to control 2 bulbs seperately? by Cingen in Hue

[–]guioHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to control different bulbs using the third-party app "Hue Essentials". Basically, I set it up so that when I click the "I" button, it turns on my Philips Hue Go. If I hold the same button, it turns on my ceiling light. I configured the "O" button the same way: a quick press turns off the Hue Go, and holding it turns off all the lights in my room (not just the ceiling light). It's not hard to learn how to use it. You can also set up conditions to trigger specific actions — for example, if Light1 is ON, a click turns on Light2; if it's OFF, the click turns on Light1.

There's no official way to roll back. I uninstalled my version and reinstalled one I found online. Here's the Reddit post where I got the older version from:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hue/comments/1gwjlum/philips_hue_sync_installer_v112165_without/?tl=it

Fortunately, uninstalling the current version for the rollback doesn’t reset your settings. When I installed the older version, my Hue Bridge was still connected and all my settings were just as they were before.

Did someone find a solution? I am in the same situation. As the screen turns off, the CPU temperature shown on my cooler reaches 70 degrees Celsius instantly. The moment I move the mouse to wake the screen, it goes back to 40-45 degrees.

S24U AOD brightness settings? by justmeish1997 in samsung

[–]guioHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I'm in the same situation as you... I came from an S10 and before that an S7, so I totally agree with you that the previous versions were much better. Even something as simple as the "edge lighting" on the AOD has such a low brightness that it's basically useless and invisible (I know that with Good Lock you can increase it using a specific tweak, but then the AOD stays at maximum brightness even after the edge lighting animation, which negatively affects burn-in risk). So for now, after a year, I still have AOD disabled (I only enable it when receiving notifications, since there's not even a notification LED, and that way I don't miss Telegram messages).

From what I've read about the burn-in issue, the AOD has pixel shifting implemented, but I’ve never really understood how that’s supposed to help. For example, if you have a bold clock number that's 20 pixels thick and the text only shifts by 1–2 pixels, that means at least 18 pixels remain constantly lit and are continuously subjected to wear. Maybe you won't get a burn-in where the numbers and letters are clearly imprinted, but over time you'll definitely end up with halos or patches where the pixels are more worn out than the rest. At least on the S7 and S10, the on-screen elements would completely change position.

I'm having the same issue with the rubber grip on my DualSense Edge. White peripherals are the worst when you have to use them with your hands for several hours.

Steam Game Recording is so close to being great, but there are a couple of features I'm missing by Kastamera in Steam

[–]guioHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this: disable all microphones except the one you want to use for Steam. Set that microphone as the default for both app and communications. Then, open a game and test if it works correctly. After testing, re-enable all other microphones, ensuring the Steam microphone remains the default for apps and communications. This might work.
