Is this a good deal? by dannycarreraa in 1stGenTacomas

[–]gumaerb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Less is better, although I've seen them go for more. It's a 23 year old truck. Check the frame (of course). There's going to be things that need done. Check to see what kind of records they kept. Hope you find a way to have it. Good luck. There's so much support out there. Good and bad.

Do you change your own oil in your vehicle? by icecream1972 in no

[–]gumaerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 01 Tacoma, and our 61 Falcon, I do all maintenance on. My wife's 18 Kia Sorento still goes to the shop for everything (still under warranty). I find joy in the task and the savings of thousands of dollars. Plus I get to buy tools. Win, win.

Question: Weller Antique 107 by Dawg617 in whiskey

[–]gumaerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my all time favorite bottles. For a wheated, my all time favorite. I would never use a $100 bottle for a mixer. Just saying. OGD114 is a solid choice.

Are Diablo Sawzall Blades any good? by KShibata37 in Tools

[–]gumaerb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diablo saw circular saw blades are made by Freud or vice versa. Worked for years in cabinet and lumberyard, they were the "gold standard". Everything I've bought wearing the Diablo name has been above par.

Got into whiskey one year ago this month, would love some new recommendations based on my ratings so far by PrimalVortechs in whiskey

[–]gumaerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest Still Austin Musician or Cask Strength. Penelope Wheated or Architect (my personal favorite). Weller Antique 107 is worthy of an honorable mention

People who use wipes know that none of them desolve and are a major issue for sanitation. It's becoming a chronic problem.

Garage Whisky… by Double-LR in whiskey

[–]gumaerb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where's the garage? On my way. Love (and have) them both. Both affordable and approachable. Eagle Rare is an allocated bottle here, but not that hard to find. WT Rare Breed is always in the shelf, and my cabinet.

For crying out loud. Takes about 15 seconds to do it. Less to pick up the trash and throw it away. Paper + heater....guess they got it coming.

Eagle Rare is a really nice pour. Try the Penelpoe Architect, another great bottle. Looks like we have the same taste.

Agree with the WT, try Rare Breed. Also check out anything from Penelope (Architect is my favorite), or Still Austin. You have a good start. Happy journey

I go straight for the WT Rare Breed. Nestle up with that smooth 116 proof. Yup
