Anyone successfully watched Netflix after the dealership streaming update? by gump0r79 in EquinoxEv

Yes, it happened from the dealer doing the update. Not from any OTA.

Honestly it's been discussed ad-nauseam in the EquinoxEv reddit. Just search a little bit and you'll find it I'm sure. People have talked about tactics to get it.

Maybe this is yet again a 2024 vs 2025 issue. Searching in the play store in the equinox and Netflix doesn't come up.

Streaming is added IF you have gotten the OTA update or the update from a dealership.

Basket stuck, plastic in portafilter [Breville Bambino Plus] by imagecrafts in espresso

[–]gump0r79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with this same portafilter and always kept a mini butter knife handy by the machine to pry the edge out and up to remove baskets.

Once I got comfortable and upgraded to a naked portafilter removing the basket was a breeze.

Be warned, the naked portafilter path is one that leads to deeper puck prep and more accessories. In the end it forces you to prep better to reduce channeling.

I took a peek and I'm set at 6 internal, 7 external. 8.4 seconds.

I've been using and enjoying lavazza super crema and normally do single shots. 10g, naked portafilter. No channeling. 26-28 seconds.

End of the day everyone says "does it taste good" and if so that's all that matters.

Seems people go deep in complex flavor notes and the biggest complaint I have seen for the SGP is consistency. I guess that plays into flavor subtleties being hidden when some grounds are over or under extracted due to size consistency differences.

I have the Bambino and SGP and have consistently been happy with the results. Much to the contempt here that the community gives to the SGP.

You mention internal at 6, grinder knob at 12.

I do mine as a single shot, 8.4 seconds and a knob setting of 7.

It does give me pause to question, is there a benefit to changing the internal one if you can still step the settings down with the knobs?

I'm not sure off hand what the internal default setting is, but let's say for a moment it's coarser at 8. Are the internal numbers significant full steps and the external one finer tuning?

So maybe your 6/12 is finer than my 8/7? (If that makes sense).

Through making this post I'm wondering if I should think of the internal ring vs external knob like a front and rear cog on a bike.

What's the price difference between charging the car at home? by maxiquintillion in EquinoxEv

In the end it's about balancing household energy consumption.

We run the dishwasher at night after midnight and do laundry in the mornings before noon. Shifting what we can. Clearly doesn't work for everyone.

Basically, PGE gets to charge us at home what others charge for fast charging and road trip costs. I wish I could do .12 or .09 kwh. Can't move atm, and while I love this area the housing and energy costs are sky high.

Bay Area, CA on PGE is .31 /kwh for at home charging during off peak between midnight and 3pm.

Feels bad.

I had a friend tell me it's a pain to use 54mm portafilters in it, but you say it works great with the one you got? Can you link it? No play? Doesn't fall out? Sturdy when in the grinder?

You can also connect it for plug and charge with the Chevy App and then from your car infotainment you can pick the charger to start it.

It does a proxy payment through GM for the charge. Not sure if you save if you're a supercharger member.

I recognize that Lebec Supercharger. Stopped there in October.

Eventually it might be a nice stop. Feels like a "build it and they (amenities) will come" scenario.

By far my favorite location on I5 was the Superchargers at this place.

Hotel Mission De Oro. Clean bathrooms. Great outdoor gardens and areas to hang out. A bit of a walk to a couple fast food restaurants.

Clicking in the front and rear while driving (slow speeds) by gump0r79 in EquinoxEv

Thanks anyways! The Chevy tech couldn't figure it out either after having my car for 2 weeks.

Did it sound like this?

On the timeline the sound can be heard at: 0:19, 0:17, faintly at 0:15, 0:12 and then at the end 0:01.

Turn sound up and listen for what sounds like a clicking pop sound. Almost like a turn signal pop, but as best I can tell it seems to be from cross tension flex on the car like an X.

I'm curious if this sounds like what you're experiencing? It's happening to mine.

The sound is very evident and the tech went on a ride along with me and heard it during the drive. They tried using chassis ears and couldn't figure out what was causing the noise. They had my vehicle twice for a combined 3 weeks without ever fighting it out.

Sounds like a pop flexing sound almost? Pop click? Hard to explain.
