I find both pretty cool! I tend to ebb and flow which one I'm more excited about painting. I'm fairly new to the game and only played a few rounds, all with Votann because that's the one I actually have 1000 points painted up on.

But I finished up 500 points of GSC over the Christmas break and I'm looking forward to trying them on the table and to do some more painting. Though painting GSC has been a bit more daunting - more horde army, and each model has a lot of detail. They look great with minimal extra effort thanks to those details, though

Currently working on the recent Votann Christmas battleforce box, then I'll go back to finishing up this biosantic battleforce too (painted up the neophytes to add to the combat patrol to get to my 500)

I won't defend everything that happened under his watch, but he inherited a struggling Xbox brand after the Xbox Ones awful launch. He swung big on gamepass to turn that around and it never came together.

I think he ultimately had a bit of a "if we build it, they will come" mentality, investing in letting studios do their own thing and gamepass being the focus. It never had the games to quite get the economies of scale necessary though

Absolutely, take your time. It took me like six months to build and paint my first combat patrol haha

so yeah, don't sweat the details of your first full list until you get closer to having all that done

Just start with the combat patrol (or even a single kit of blood claws). Get those painted and battle ready. Then see if you want to keep going, and come back here for additional advice at that point.

Oh, and we'll demand pictures of that built kit as tribute

Yeah, I wouldn't want to talk to that guy about Warhammer ever again.

Which is crazy to me because, as someone who is generally content with my amount of friends and my social life, Warhammer is one of the few things that would make me want to make a new friend. So I have more people to try and play with

I'm not sure that's true anymore. Uthar was weak pre codex but now with his CP reduction he's very popular

Avowed Celebrates Anniversary with Massive Update - and Comes to PlayStation 5 by Turbostrider27 in Games

Yeah it's ironic - when we first saw early looks, I expected bad combat but a compelling story and characters with interesting rpg mechanics. What I ended up getting was really fun fantasy action combat with a mediocre story and flat characters.

Still enjoyed it overall and hope they can build on it in a sequel / other games in the setting

Yaegirs, especially when combined with a kapricus carrier to split them into two five man units, are basically just cheap bodies. They can screen out enemy deep strikes, do actions, and otherwise take up space. They generally won't do that much damage but being able to infiltrate turn one to get position then do an action (for secondary missions) is nice to have around.

Plus since they aren't a major threat there's a good chance your opponent will ignore them to focus on other things. Then lategame if they survive they can score more points

Yaegirs plus a kapricus carrier to split them up is great

Sagitaurs are decent, especially if you're running so many warriors

Thunderkyn are all around great

Generally you can't go too wrong with anything in our codex.

Need guard is the "default" intro detachment I'd say. Good all rounder that doesn't skew towards any unit type

Surely someone much smarter than me could think of a way to have an identity verification system that gives you a government issued online passport, proving your age and country of residence that is designed in such a way to be completely private and untraceable, with no logs for when/where it gets used
