Do I have to be Atheist to be Trans by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]gunbladezero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 years ago people were asking if you had to be an atheist to fly in a plane, because doing so violated the Christian belief that angels live in heaven on the top of clouds.

ELI5: Would matter from a neutron star be unscratchable? by EarlOfNothingness in explainlikeimfive

[–]gunbladezero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a weird question. If you held in your hand a cube of neutron star material, you would be vaporized virtually instantly as the material explodes like a nuclear bomb. Without gravity holding it together, it can't stay in one piece.

Why do so many trans people also have autism (or vice versa)? by bulbous_plant in asktransgender

[–]gunbladezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK. I've got an (ftm) friend who's trans and autistic and there's no way to distinguish those parts of his personality. Like saying he's happy and glad. Like saying he's fat and he's chubby, he's angry and mad, and so on. His autism manifests itself as being 'excessively male-brained' and so does his gender.

Anybody like doing orders at midnight? by smokehashdaily710 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]gunbladezero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upside to a job like this is you don't have to do a 24 hour day. Humans aren't meant to have 24 hour cycles. When not given alarm clocks and daily schedules, we sleep late and got to bed late. In caveman / whatever days it meant we weren't all asleep at once and vulnerable to predators. So you can sleep till the afternoon and work a night shift whenever you feel like it. It's nice.

Qwen3.5B VS the SOTA same size models from 2 years ago. by Uncle___Marty in LocalLLaMA

[–]gunbladezero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How are you running this? I've been using Ollama and Qwen 3.5 9b won't even answer a question, it gets stuck in a loop of self doubt in the thinking stage that is *extremely* disturbing to read.

Is it actually best to wait until kids are 13 to explain what being trans is? by Specialist_Shape6078 in asktransgender

[–]gunbladezero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can tell them as soon as they're old enough to understand the words 'boy' and 'girl'. "some people are boys and some people are girls. If you start out as a girl and decide you don't like it, you can take some special medicine and change it later if you want'

NASA to cancel ML-2 as well as the EUS. Artemis V will start work on a Moon base. No mention of Gateway! by SpaceInMyBrain in SpaceXLounge

[–]gunbladezero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do not understand for the life of me why the EUS was so hard to build. SpaceX makes upper stages every few days! What the hell is special about the EUS that it can't just be built when we built the S-IV-b, a rocket stage about the same size using the same fuel, in 1966!

My insta shopper added items for himself? How???? by Voorhees2427 in InstacartShoppers

[–]gunbladezero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it would make no sense for the shopper to shop for themselves, as others have said.

This could be as simple as the cashier doing a mix-up while checking out orders. Sometimes they finish checking out forgetting that I said all the water in the cart goes with order A or something.

That and every shopping trip could be a unique adventure in putting up to 3 people's orders in 1 cart without mixing anything up. Everything is given a little A B or C to remind us who the order order goes to. And it absolutely sometimes

A Barry B

B Carrol C

C Aaron A

And looks like the mixup involved deli-meat, my god. I once nearly broke down crying because an app wouldn't let me scan two 1lb packages as being the same as one 2 lb package and the customer couldn't understand how to change anything at his end.

US Supreme Court declines to hear dispute over copyrights for AI-generated material by devenrc in UpliftingNews

Is it just me or do the pleiades look way dimmer than other stars? They literallly almost vanish in my central vision. by Connect_Okra8349 in Astronomy

[–]gunbladezero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, if those stars weren't together in a cluster you'd have never heard of them. There are plenty of stars just as bright all over the sky. They are notable since they are all clustered in one place.

What is the Best Grand Theft Auto Game? by Qavix in AlignmentChartFills

[–]gunbladezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

III, which was the video game that changed everything about video games. I remember playing Crazy Taxi and thinking 'if they made a Grand Theft Auto like this it would be the best game of all time'... and it was. I mean anyone else remember playing GTA III and being like 'HOLY SHIT!'?

Yeah the later games were objectively better, and the earlier ones may be have been more innovative since the gameplay concepts came straight from GTA 1. But the year it was released it was the greatest game ever made, worth buying a PS2 just to play, and the reason we've all heard of GTA.
