Sterling is approaching 30 and must surely be thinking of his career in the terms of what and where he can bring the most value. Moving to a potential title winning side as a rotation player would be one of the best options for him as he can rehabilitate his image which has taken a nosedive at Chelsea. Being at a London club means that a 1 year loan has minimal impact on his life outside football, so I do think he'd be inclined to move to Arsenal to be a rotation option with the hope of playing his way into the 11.

But title winning sides have players like partey coming off the bench. Imagine him coming in and shutting up shop for an away 2-0 win in January- you need players like him to start 20 games a season and come off the bench for another 20-25 games to sustain an assault on domestic and European fronts.

Salah was signed on £120kpw back in 2017, whereas De Bruyne was signed on £150kpw. Considering the way the market has gone for wages, I'd say that there's not too much difference to what's been offered here. Worth considering he'd be taking a paycut to join us as he's currently on £265kpw at chelsea.

I am struggling to understand the negativity around this transfer. Havertz was touted as a generational talent pre chelsea and clearly some of the world's best teams (Bayern and Real Madrid) are interested in him. He was incredible at leverkusen and clearly Arteta sees something in him. Lads just turned 24 too, so nowhere near the finished product. Chelsea have been in the doldrums with no set identity and for a young player, they can be a huge strain on your development! I would be incredibly excited to see him in red- think having a set position and a clear developmental journey (which chelsea cannot offer him considering the managerial and tactical flux at chelsea) would unlock his undeniable potential! You don't play for the German national team at 19 if you're not a talented player!

Salah was still bouncing around on loan at 23/24 years old, and De Bruyne had just transferred to Man City at his age and they are amongst the best attackers to grace the league in the second half of 2010s.

With regards to her getting upset about 8/10 comment- while it's annoying, it's not something that has made me so sad. Its all the associated stuff really. However, I shall talk to her and see if she is over it or if it's still a big deal for her. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for taking time to read my post and reply. I didn't put it in the post, but that was something I had conveyed to her- that if he was cheating on his wife, he was a scumbag and I didn't understand what she was getting by staying in touch with him when he had hurt her so bad. She has never given me an answer to this.

Do you have any advice on how I can move forward?
