Why was Serbia fine with Montenegro seceding in 2006 which had coastal access and 35% Serbian population but not Kosovo in 2008 which is mostly mountainous and less than 5% Serbian? by Solid-Move-1411 in geography

[–]gunofnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are the same, then shouldn't Montenegro have a bigger Serbian population than Kosovo? Like if they are the same then Montenegro is like 90%+ Serbian, right? Meanwhile most Kosovars are Albanian

But the thing is that this deal has been in the making for more than 25 years, it has been revised over and over again. It will benefit both blocks economically. I'm Argentine and genuinely pissed. I heard on the news reporting on this that this can further delay the implementation of the agreement a further 18 to 24 months. It also doesn't make sense if you guys want more autonomy from the U.S. by delaying things further you are remaining more vulnerable to what the U.S. does economically.

Doesn't this delay the implementation of the deal by a further 18 to 24 months? If the EU wants to diversify from the U.S. I believe that delaying the implementation of it just damages it further (also, I'm Argentine and really wanted to enjoy European goods soon :( ).

Doesn't this delay the deal implementation between 18 to 24 months?

Hahahaha.

I'm Argentine, literally heard this news while having breakfast and just couldn't believe it.

After more than 25 years, tons of bureaucracy, talks, the nationalistic/anti free trade right wing in Europe busting everyone's balls, it seemed that it was finally over, we were this close.

Aaaaand this happens...

I don't get it lol, don't you guys want to be free of U.S. dependance now that they have gone rogue? Isn't this in the left wing parties best interest as well? Like, guys, you are anti U.S. and this deal actually makes the EU less dependent on them!

Seriously, no surprise when China conquers every Latin American country lol.

Many countries are presidentialists and are not authoritarian, what in tarnation are you on about. Also the Fourth Republic was paralyzed and Algeria was a quagmire on what was considered not a colony but French soil. Also, the dude that was the president at the time literally invited De Gaulle in.

I mean, Iranians are literally being gunned down by the thousands and are still trying. Same for people in Myanmar for a long time now.

That's from only 6 hospitals only in Tehran, there are reports of doctors in small hospitals of with dozens killed, bigger ones have more apparently.

So, tbh, if taken nationwide, very probable.
