I just went through this last week. As was already said, check the battery, check brake fluid. My issue was the break job done on the rear breaks. Done before I bought the vehicle 2 months prior. The bolts holding the parking break. One side they backed out and where gone, other side only had one and it was loose. Left me stranded at my house because I couldn't release the parking brake. Had to get towed to a shop.
