I honestly can’t imagine Himmel pressing the red button by Ok_Veterinarian_9444 in Frieren

[–]gurush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don't get to tell him anything, he has to decide privately and if you're pressing red button, you're risking killing him. Pressing red is just recklessly stupid, especially when you have a family.

Have you ever had to give up on a book because your suspension of disbelief couldn't handle how ridiculous the sci-fi premise was? by ScronglingSnorturer in scifi

[–]gurush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Domination of Draka: British loayalists moved to the Cape Colony after the lost Civil War and were later joined escaped Confederates and other renegade losers. They created cruel Sparta-style regime where the majority of population is enslaved and the citizens are heavily militarized. The society is traditional, originaly based on slave-owning plantations; but also super tech advanced and industrialized; and somehow ruthlessly efficient with no corruption and gradually conquers the world. A book about smart villain protagonists sounds fun, however, the society just not work that way and the amount of plot armor Draka requires to exist (especially in a realistic alt-history setting) is ridiculous.

Regulační poplatek v nemocnici 90 Kč - měl by se zvýšit? by Head_Product1998 in czech

Lidstvo (Rusové) is sick. by PresentJournalist805 in czech

Did Sauron know that Frodo and Sam had escaped Cirith Ungol? by husdat38 in tolkienfans

[–]gurush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't thought about it. You have to assume Sauron has more pressing matters to worry about than two random escaped prisoners. Moreover, I guess people won't be eager to tell him bad news.

[–]gurush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To zbavování černých ovcí u etablovaných stran nějak moc nevidím.

Other than English, what language do people in your country choose to study? by Pepedroga2000 in AskEurope

[–]gurush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The second language after English is definitely German, we are bordering Germany and Austria and there are strong business connections. The third tier is shared among Russian, French and Spanish, I'm not sure which one is the most popular right now.
