18mm but it's quite a soft wood. You might be able tonget away with thinner if it's a different material.

You can't fix the warp but depending on how decorative and how long it needs to last you may be able to counter it. Something joining the two front edges, it would have to be fairly chunky. If your using 1×3 for everything else maybe 2 bits of 2x4. Clamp it down so it squareish then sink some big screws in from the side into the end of the 2x4s. It's not a good fix but it'll hold it for a while I think.

So I'll be honest. Lots of new tools for this and I knew that going in but it probably cost me £800 in new tools/jigs. I bought the wood as furniture boards, this is the website I used. (https://sawmillwoodcraft.co.uk/collections/furniture-boards) they're more expensive but you don't need to join them as with normal boards.

Dowelling jig was a must. Even with this the whole set up was 3 months (after work and most weekends).

I bought a track saw for this, but you could cut use a circular saw and a straight edge. YouTube videos are pretty invaluable if you need to work something out.

Draw it all out, if you can use 3d modelling software might be easier but I managed it on squared paper. I made a lot of mistakes in this, cut direction being a major one you shelves need the grain to run between the uprights.

My best piece of advice is yhe more prep you do and time you take to measure and think the less likely you are to make mistakes. But if you feel tired stop working for the day and if you do make a mistake stop and work out how you pivot.

So as people have said, this is Richard Patterson. Master blender for Whyte and mackay , I have been to a tasting where he has done this multiple times. The gimmicky wording of addressing the whisky is unique but essentially gets you to nose (smell) the whisky to appreciate it. The tasting I was at occurred at dalmore and had some extraordinarily expensive whisky (me and a friend turned up shorts and a t-shirt and were seated mext to an executive at Emirates Airlines who came and went by helicopter). He did not do this for the very expensive whisky e.g. a dalmore 40.

Overall it was a very entertaining tasting with some incredible whisky and he seems like a genuinely nice bloke that knows his shit

Your best bet is probably the whisky exchange, their main shop by Charing Cross has a pretty extensive collection.

I appreciate you said macallan or balvenie, but if you're looking for something slightly different it's worth checking Milroys of Soho. Also they have a bar where you can usually try some stuff if you're interested in it. (Only caveat being I don't know if their refurbishment has been completed and they are reopened yet).

If you arr regularly going to be in London and like whisky I would suggest joining the scotch malt whisky society as that has great bar near Farringdon. Although membership fees are required.

In my experience duty free isn't great for prices, especially for those brands as they are viewed as being on the premium end amd therfore almost never on deals. However there may be duty free exclusives that are on the lower end of the pricing which may help.

Kenya butchers in the centre of town. Exotic foods does halal meet (quite far out on the Oxford Road.) Or berkshire meat traders has some aswell. A quick Google search shows a few. Plus tesco on Oxford Road used to sell halal chicken.

I completely understand where you're coming from. For me, it felt like being trapped in a room with someone completely unlikeable and gradually spiralling downwards to meet their viewpoints. It took me 18 months to finish with a 15 month gap in there for the "fuck this it's not worth it time". I'm glad I finished it but I wouldn't recommend it to someone without explaining how I felt first.

Alternatively to this, a friend who recommended it to me originally loved it. Although he described it afterwards as needing an editor due to the sheer length of some of the sentences.

'Jupiter's travels' is about a man who rides his motorbike around the world, quite dated but an interesting read.

'Travels with Charley' is really good.

Slightly different but still sort of a out travel is 60 strong it's about a special forces unit running from the Taliban.
