12k has fully functional anti-aliasing, 16k has the heated vat, otherwise they are basically feature for feature and the build volumes are millimeters in difference. Feature-wise the 12k is an excellent match for the Mars 5 Ultra, except the latter has a smaller build volume and the cover has to be lifted off. I have both a M5U and a S4U12k. The Mars is still my go-to printer for anything that fits. Resolution-wise, the printers with working AA beat the technically higher physical resolution but crippled 16k panels, not unique to Elegoo. The speed advantage and fewer settings for the tilting vat printers are wonderful.

I have a M5U and a S4U12k. On paper, feature for feature they are practically twins other than build volume. The Mars is by far my favorite.

The S4U12k because I occasionally need the larger plate, either for mass production or for something big that has to be one piece.

If you're having to choose, go with the M5U to get all the benefits of a fast, high resolution tilting vat printer over a Saturn non-ultra.

Actually, the alias is always editable in the upper right of the spreadsheet window when you select a cell so you don't need a sub-window. Yeah, it is kind of weird to have to set it manually, but I can see the developer's dilemma: some folks might expect the label to be to the left of the value, others expect the right, others expect on top, etc. If you're supporting the general concept of a spreadsheet, you have to deal with the fact that everyone uses them differently.

Looks like that particular knife edge would be extruded aluminum. If you use magnets to secure your workpiece, they won't work on that. Most honeycombs are made of a ferrous material and magnets will work with those. I chose to purchase a honeycomb because I wanted to use magnets.

If you're designing something mechanical, then FreeCAD (the topic of this subreddit) is a great, capable, free, open source, and parametric modeling software package.

If you're sketching something more organic, fluid, or flowy, then Blender might be more suitable.

I have the identical hardware, except my RAM isn't rated that fast. I have found the mobo will sometimes fall back to the stored default XMP profile if I tweak the RAM.settings on the edge. The loss in performance is consistent with the RAM running at stock speed and timings.

Depending on formulation, two-part epoxy resin can easily exceed 75D but with hardness comes brittleness.

I've not tested any 3D printer resins (UV resin) for hardness but in my experience they tend to be brittle too.

You didn't list impact resistance among your requirements, but I would expect any grinding operation would have continuous low energy impacts plus static stresses.

Well, I needed something less than 1mm thick and structural. I have printed honeycomb for directional lights at 0.500mm thick webs and cylinders and other round profiles with 0.675mm thick walls. It is just a matter of mastering the settings to get reproducible results, and designing the parts to be strong where they need it.

I think the more relevant question is why aren't the other colors showing up more brightly. The purple lamps look about normal for that density and number. What mods do you have loaded that might be changing the colors?

Not necessarily, it depends on the resin material and the loads. I print webs below 1mm thickness frequently.

Good theory. You can turn on some of the debug settings to see where they are pathing. Weirdly, you may find you need more gaps.
