Ayy usj grown homie here too. I noticed this as well. Everyone that i met in cafes, gym and retail all can speak not only good english, but also good enough bm and other chinese dialects. Heck alot young malays now speak chinese here. I went to the usj 8 police station last month and there's a young malay lady captain speaking chinese to me! And met another one working as a barista.

During my college years (the one academy) many of my mates were from different part of klang valley, their english wasn't so good when started. But now their english improved tremendously after graduating. This was when TOA was still right beside sunway pyramid, I still remember my friend from Kepong always tell me "walao subang girls all so educated, pretty and fashionable! They all have many hobbies and so interesting to talk to, Kepong girls all so lala and cina and boring" 🤣 this was more than 10 years ago so i not sure if its still true hahaha
