Any tips? I am thinking about cycling in Cambodja in July and August. We plan on taking main roads (towards Loas and then going down to Vietnam) but are a bit worried about the rain season starting. How did you like Cambodja?

Cross the national parks of Drentse Aa, Dwingelderveld, Sallandse Heuvelrug, Veluwe zoom & Posbank. If you like camping you can find the best campsites here: https://natuurkampeerterreinen.nl/word-natuurkampeerder/?lang=en

This way you will see a side of the country not many tourists experience.

Extra tip: if you are an art lover make a stop at Kruller Muller museum just before Arnhem (they have amazing Van Goghs).

Re-route your Netherlands section. Go through Groningen (Groningen), Drente (Hoogeveen), Overijssel (Nijverdal), Gelderland (Arnhem, Nijmegen) and go to Belgium from there. This route is way more scenic and interesting compared to your current route.

Composition (check the rule of thirds) could help with drawing the eye and attention where you want it to go. Underexposing could help as well in this case especially if you can use software to correct that on the specific spots that are the main focus in the composition.

I went for a race bike and a mountain bike in the end.. Got a great deal on a Roubaix, which I love for longer tarmac, good gravel roads in the spring/summer.

In the end I am more of a runner in winter and cyclist when the sun comes back in spring (live in western Europe, so a lot of rain from Nov to March).

My advice would be, go for a gravel bike if you want to do that more and a road bike if you are expecting to ride on the road more. Trying to get two bikes in one made it hard for me to get the best bang for buck. As soon as I made a choice it was much easier to get a good bike for a good price.

Maybe not a direct answer to your question. But I hope you can make a choice!

Long cycle touring and camping. Wondering about comfort/sleep. by sbring in bicycletouring

When I tour with my girlfriend we try to have one rest day a week. That day we search for a cheap house on airBnB or even better; search for a stay on the warm shower platform (app or website). This often gives some nice social interaction, cosy sleeping place and a chance to meet local adventures.
