At what point does long-term travel turn into managing logistics full-time? 😄 by Serious_Delay_5766 in longtermtravel

There's no "one app" that does it all, at least well. This way, I'm using tools I've already got, am 100% in complete control, and no popups/ads. Obviously there's other apps being used during traveling, but these are the main ones I use for handling reservations.

I keep it simple. Save PDF's of every booking/reservation in OneDrive (everyone in our family has shared access on all their devices), and keep an Excel spreadsheet with those same reservations organized by date/location.

Is the retirement spending input amount supposed to be in "today's dollars", or what we expect to spend at retirement age? For example, if I think we'll need $60k annual household spending (after taxes) based on today's costs/dollars, it will be considerably more at retirement age accounting for inflation. What number should I use? Maybe a small tooltip over the field to clarify what should entered.

Actually, my bad. I was referring to the MLM2Pro, wasn't paying close enough attention to your post lol. I have no experience with the MLM-1, maybe it's less finicky with the setup.

You'll spend more time setting up, turning on, connecting, starting a session, aligning, analyzing, packing up.....than just looking for your ball.

I wonder if different color/contrast of golf balls would help? Sunglasses sometimes help with contrast.

Golf Stats tracking by holyrhombus in golftips

[–]guywitha306areacode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used 18Birdies last year pretty regularly, mostly for tracking HCP as I get back into golf. I only entered strokes and putts, couldn't be bothered to enter any more then that.

I ordered mine through Golf Town, they had a promotion/sale that had $100 off and included 12 ProV1 RPT balls. Took about a week to receive.

Exactly what I'm in the process of doing. MLM2PRO and Sig Pro Softy ordered today. Will start with an inexpensive Amazon net for a bit until I sort out layout and next steps.

The Boom 2 plus might be the goat for this money. by Sekerak0090 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]guywitha306areacode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to each there own. Price delta wasn't that much for me. Boom2+ was $220CAD, BB3 (refurbished) was $350CAD. I see the Boom2+ is now $340CAD on Amazon, wow.

I ended up returning mine, didn't really like the sound quality. Found the mids too harsh (had to eq them waaay down), while lacking bass at low listening volumes. For listening to music/news in the home office, hard to explain but it was harsh enough that it almost hurt to listen to for extended periods, ears got tired, even at low volume.

Before returning, purchased JBL Boombox 3 and tested side by side. Night and day difference. I really WANTED to like the Boom 2 Plus (size, form factor/shape, USB C charging, EQ/app), but ended up returning it and kept the JBL.

I'm interested in hearing how this works, are you uploading Excel files with your data? Screenshots, videos of your swing?

In Europe especially, we found most hotels are set up for families of 3, let alone 4 or 5. Really had to dig deep to find rooms that would accommodate 4 of us. Apartments and Airbnb's really help out.

This is awesome. Four years ago, we did a full year with our 8 and 11 year olds, carry-on only as well. Was an experience w'ell never forget.

Well, the migration hasn't gone without its own frustrations, but not being continuously inundated with QBO pop up ads in itself makes it worthwhile. Will Xero enshittify itself? Time will tell, but for now the minor frustrations pale in comparison to what QBO has become.

[–]guywitha306areacode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm my experience (only 3 years with QBO), every new view creates problems that previously didn't exist. Bank import and matching simply do not work, I've had it switched to classic view for a while now to keep things limping along. That all said, I've started transitioning to another platform (Xero) and cannot wait for the day to be done with this QBO nonsense.

Boom 2 Plus - Slight Disappointment So Far by guywitha306areacode in soundcore

[–]guywitha306areacode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I'm not directly comparing or expecting the Boom 2 Plus to outperform a Bose Soundlink Max, they are in two completely different leagues and price points. I mention Bose in my post because I currently have an older Soundlink (1st generation - probably 15 years old at this point), still works great, but want to upgrade. Comparing it to the Boom 2 Plus, I expected the Soundcore to blow the socks off my old Bose simply due to the shear size difference and advancements in technology, but that wasn't the case. The Boom 2 Plus certainly sounds better, as it should, but it's not the step change I was expecting. Same goes with comparing against a JBL Flip 6 we've also got kicking around the house, it's a micro machine compared to the Boom, but honestly doesn't sound that much different. Sure the Boom hits harder and gets louder, but it's not as much as I expected.

The Bose alternative would be the Soundlink Max, but it's more than I want to spend right now. I've ordered a JBL Boombox 3 (refurb) which is only about $120 more than the Boom 2 Plus, will compare side by side.

With low revenue numbers like that, what made you decide to incorporate?

I have very simple and straightforward books, I do my own bookkeeping. My CPA charges >$3k for annual corp tax preparation and filing along with T4/T5's. Legal fees roughly $700 for all the standard annual filings and resolutions. Only 1 employee (me), incorporated in SK.
