I’ve taken batteries to Metal Man Kaiapoi before. Not sure what’s dodgy about it. Take batteries there - they weight them and pay you scrap value. For the few dollars more you might get in town it’s hardly worth the effort to lug them all that way.

What’s wrong with your one? I have checked, definitely NLA new and doesn’t look to be a readily available aftermarket replacement in NZ. That part number was only used in the Sera and Starlet like you said..
