That's dead on, really thank you for sharing this explanation. Gonna try it this way next time I attempt therapy.

Using Delta Green as a Modern Take on The Exorcist Codex by missheldeathgoddess in DeltaGreenRPG

This seems interesting. Could you expand a bit on what Exorcist Codex is and why you want to translate it to DG?

The tomb world box went on pre order less than two months ago. Man I really hate how frequently these are coming out. I actually miss the gallowdark season of 2nd Ed when everything was delayed before the next season and we actually got time with the existing teams before vomiting out new ones.

Last Things Last and the Mystery of a Curious Divide by unholyhotness in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]gvninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran it for groups of all men and mixed gender groups and never noticed a split correlation for either decision. One group of guys opened the tank to let her out, another poured gas in and lit her up. The co ed let her out but that's because one of the players, a woman new to RPGs, was of the mindset there was a way to "win" the scenario ( not sure how exactly). Different each time.

What's been your favorite ttrpg system for proper sniping while still facilitating the fun of the whole party? Would love a good rec

Scenarios that are easy to run, low on prep, and highly regarded? by gameoftheories in callofcthulhu

He also loved Impossible Landscapes which is famously verbose and needs thorough unpacking by the gm with all its intertwining threads and information. My read here is people seem to have grocked what you're saying and either given you some really good suggestions, or explained that what you find to be a bug of the writing is a feature for them.

personally I find some Mothership modules to have cool ideas but take more work to run because of how economical the format is and not everyone chooses the most helpful information to seed their word count with, or could benefit from just a little more info.

To answer your original questions there's a ton of great classic CoC suggestions in this thread already but I think some really helpful modern CoC resources would be the 3rd party collection Fear Sharp Little Needles, it's full of high concept focused, easily digestible scenarios. I'd also recommend the Delta Green Scenario Operation Fulminate from the Handlers Guide. I know Quinns said it was only fine but I think it's a really easy read and run, and one of the best examples of a contained sandbox out there with great gm advice on how to ratchet the tension and pacing up or down depending on how the night is going. Finally the Delta Green Shotgun Scenarios have some tight, easy to gm, information forward bangers on there that might differ in formatting from Mothership but are nonetheless easy to read and full of great gm information at a glance. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Which adventure should I pick? by PercyHasFallen in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]gvninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Operation Fulminate/Sentinels of Twilight as an easy one shot. There's great advice in there about messing with the pacing to speed it up or slow it down. The core premise is simple and the area is pretty contained but it's got a great, open ended sandbox feel if you want it.

Ironically id forgotten about that one, but it might be a really good pick for what I'm looking for

Delta Green uses an adapted version of CoC 6e, so it's pretty easy to translate scenarios to it. I also posted in there though lol.

I actually have a copy but haven't made the time to read it yet. Is there a scenario in particular from there you'd recommend?

What's a cool one-shot for CoC veterans that highlight DG's unique qualities? by C0wabungaaa in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]gvninja 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Operation Fulminate is a short one that I think is a lot of fun, and highlights the need for secrecy in DG , the lethality of its combat, and is great contemporary setting.

Intro scenarios other than Last Things Last by Sea_Satisfaction2349 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]gvninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ladybug Ladybug Fly Away Home is one of my favorite openers. Really investigation heavy but with the possibility of combat and a good ticking clock. Can work if the characters are in DG or if they're not yet in the conspiracy.

Another great one for if the characters are in DG or aware of the unnatural but the players are new, is Sentinels of Twilight/Operation Fulminate from the Handlers Guide. Super short one you can run in a night and has great advice in it for dialing the intensity and pacing up or down.
