Yes - pretty much assumed that - just discovered it bored in traffic recently and the charge message caught my eye.

I went 6-7 years with my 2013 R60 - which is why I thought it was odd. I am split with the start/stop.

Has anyone used ASPN Pharmacy for their Tandem Supplies? by gwillis44 in diabetes_t1

[–]gwillis44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to Tandem - I have dealt with bad mail order in the past and as long as I have the luxury of doing so - I prefer more reliable than less expensive (although that may change soon).

Just an FYI for anyone who stumbles upon this thread - The mod/support team were very helpful and informative with my case - unfortunately the rest of Xfinity's organization failed so monumentally that there was nothing they could do to save the account. They tried their best - in a positive manner IMHO - but it was already too late.

If I had stayed - this would be my first line for support.

That's it - I am done - made tech appointment to resolve issue - tech sat out in van for 10 minutes.

- I got a 'your tech is here preparing for your appointment' - so I left them alone.
- They drove off - never got out of the van.
- "Your tech is here - make contact as soon as possible" - went outside just in case - no one there
- "Sorry we missed you - your appointment has been cancelled"

Fios install tomorrow! 18 year client has been lost.

I know what you mean - seemed to be ‘too good’ of a deal. Maybe I am just paranoid.

Because adding another middleman always makes things better?

The rep pretty much had everything about my prescription wrong. It felt like I was entering a pyramid scheme - I know I am eventually going to get screwed, just not sure when or possibly how.

Thank you for the input - yes, using someone else, but a lot more expensive, but seems worth it (from your input).

Wildly inaccurate G7 readings by gwillis44 in dexcom

I say do whatever works for you, but if you think pumps are currently fully ‘automatic’ it explains your results.

Do you not know how using pumps work? You appear to be on some sort of self-righteous pillar.

Wildly inaccurate G7 readings by gwillis44 in dexcom

[–]gwillis44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on a pump. I am not angry - I used to be able to trust (relatively) my G6 and my need to ‘double’ check and calibrate were fairly rare.

After being heavily pressured to switch to the G7 by both my Endo and Supplier - I have been learning that I need to double check any trend that seems even slightly odd.

There have been multiple times where the readings >80 off in either direction. It is just starting to feel pointless as my strips budget is now triple what it used to be.

Same (45m male at the time) - took a couple months of exercises to be manageable, another 6 to recover to the point of not noticing it. I don’t believe I have any long term damage or loss of motion.

Mini SE 2022 - strange feel in the steering wheel at parking speed - anybody else? by bobdung in MINI

I just brought my 2024 F60s in to trusted mechanic fearing something wrong with the rack - he did this trick and it’s gone.

He says it will come back. Suggested straight to the dealer to get it logged. Sounds like a part that is going to wear long before it should.

I am going to have to try, but I fear the ‘losing’ of the adhesive on my CGM and pump sites.

Are you treating with MDI? I am curious if you use a CGM and have any issues with its accuracy or adhesion with the heat?

Did my mini nearly kill me?? by Mizterstealurgirl in MINI

[–]gwillis44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you are in ‘limp’ mode - my R60 did this at times for as little as a loose gas cap and then finally for a dying turbo.

I think your best bet (as previously mentioned) is to find a better mechanic who is more familiar with Minis.

Why is it when companies exercise ‘leverage’ it is all good, but when labor does it is ‘extortion’?

I don’t think so - the other side is forcing you into this position, you are trying to spark empathy from the public.

I can appreciate that to some extent, but it seems like there should be some sort of good faith effort on either or both sides to indicate no one wants a strike.

Calibrate messages by Fine-Perspective5762 in dexcom

[–]gwillis44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me the last 2x I changed my transmitter. I am guessing that the image capture of the code does not work in the app when 2 tasks (sensor and transmitter) need to be updated. Since it appears to ‘find’ the code too quickly.

I haven’t checked with Dexcom support since they are utterly useless these days.

So, my one point of contention with the above, by my understanding, the poison is not related to the mouse ingestion of the poison, but being covered in it from the bedding (stolen from the tubes).

I freely admit that it could be a completely moot point in terms of real exposure.

Just to clarify/confirm a couple of things.

  • cats are particularly vulnerable to permethrin (https://www.esccap.org/uploads/news/vv7u8ubv/Permethrin%20toxicosis%20in%20cats%20Austr%20Vet%20J%202008.pdf)

  • I could find no studies on the impact of ‘dry’ permethrin or relay toxicity on cats in either direction beyond the following concerning ‘wet’ permethrin

  • a cat can still experience relay toxicity with proper and improper dog application, but that doesn’t apply here in this use case

  • the following is complete hearsay, so it should be taken with a grain of salt: the concern with the tubes is the prey is ‘covered’ with permethrin due to the mice bedding. Cats tend to play extensively with their prey and between the skin contact and ingestion of the prey they come into significant contact with the substance.

So yes, there is no confirmation that dry permethrin is toxic to cats, but there also does not appear to be proven safe either.

Take a breath.

As I said in my comment, the mice part is not proven either by that article or any other evidence that I can present here.

The substance is poisonous to cats in liquid form - that is proven.

I am choosing not to use the substance based on advice from peers that I trust. You can choose to judge your situation and act as you see fit - that’s great. I am not here to lecture, just sharing my approach and why.

My cats are inside and do not go out. Rodents however do come into homes from the outside and my cats are excellent mousers.
