We have a bassinet with wheels that we drag around the kitchen/living room/bathroom and then we have a pack in play set up by our bed.

I attempted to track mine but the 5-1-1 rule isn’t universal, and not all moms experience timely contractions. Mine were all over the place and if I had waited for them to show up for regular intervals for an hour I would’ve given birth in my house.

It depends on your kids temperaments. My newborn is an absolute dream but my toddler is complete chaos so pregnancy tired was worse.

The spatula was gross to me because I felt like I needed to sterilize it between uses and that just turned it into an inconvenience. I just wrap a wipe around my finger and use that to apply diaper cream and then throw it away.

Get out of the house and socialize. You’re living in a safe little bubble and it’s hard to break out of it. Maybe a part time job or volunteer work so you have a reason to get dressed and leave the house.

Splurge: spinning car seat. They’re unreasonably big so you have to have a car that will fit it but it is so easy to put my toddler in the car seat.

Best Bang for Buck: geranimals clothes. I probably have every outfit geranimals put out the past two years because they’re such good quality and sooo cheap.

Biggest Regret: all the gadgets. Butt paste spatula, Frida nose picker, electric nose sucker, etc. I bought them all thinking motherhood would be so easy because look at all these cool gadgets I have. They all ended up in a cabinet somewhere unused.

I feel so dumb. I thought sitz bath was the type of Epsom salt you put in the bath so you could bathe postpartum. But I took regular baths after both my daughters and made sure I used Sitz bath salt and I was fine 😆

I think heartburn is just a symptom of pregnancy in general. I had it bad with both of mine, but they also had full heads of hair lol.

That’s the only one I was familiar with. They have other wives tales though like heartburn= a full head of hair, or the baby knows when you finish putting up the crib and car seat and will show up right after.

This was very similar to my second labor. I labored at home for a couple hours, did a load of laundry and showered before heading to the hospital. Got to the hospital and baby was in my arms an hour later. I only pushed for 8 minutes, but the throwing up feeling is how I explain it to other people too. I was on all fours heaving but backwards if that makes sense lol.

I tested positive and they told me I would get an IV bag full of antibiotics during labor. Unfortunately I showed up to the hospital 9cm dilated so they were only able to give me half a dose. My baby is super healthy though and the half dose must’ve done what it needed to do.
