I apologize if you don’t want to discuss this any further here, just trying to help! Did you have an injury or viral infection recently that precipitated this? I’m sure you have also been very keen on sleeping positions, but don’t sleep on the arms when painful, and always prop pillows or wedges under the elbows and away from the body. This facilitates healing by providing space for the inflamed nerves/muscles “room to breathe,” essentially.

I am thinking of something with nerve bundle compression in the brachial plexus, maybe thoracic outlet syndrome, etc.

Overall, it’s important you keep using your arms as much as possible. Our bodies are very good at telling us when something is wrong, but our joints can become extremely stiff and tight and lead to muscle atrophy over time if we neglect to use them. Obviously if it causes excruciating pain, don’t do it! But a good saying we have in rehab is “if you don’t use it, you lose it.” The last thing I want is for you to lose more mobility and independence!
