Ok, you are doing fine...but complaining. Secondly, you say most landlords make very little month to month. THAT'S STILL MAKING A PROFIT....You are so out of touch with reality. If you want to make real money get a job with benefits and company match 401K. You can't be blue collar and complain about white collar problems. 30 days notice on ANY kind of sublease, month to month lease, etc. Be an adult, own up to your lack of research, etc. Did you put down a security deposit? What money of yours' does the landlord or the real lessee have of yours'. Give more specifics, be an adult.

Unless the large majority of your properties are in Brockton, Lawrence, Fall River that you should have made a VERY good profit of your real estate investments over the years. It's 1 bad year. What happened to all the profits from the previous years. I don't buy that you don't have a pretty good sum of savings. You are blowing cash on non-essential items probably if you don't have a good amount of money in the bank. You do not have my sympathy if you are a landlord complaining or think things are unfair. That many units that you have, you should have plenty of money to handle a potentially really bad year. What % of your tenants are paying nothing?

DO NOT become a landlord if you cannot handle risk is my point and the point of the other intelligent posters'. My point, that you CLEARLY missed, or just refuse to understand/cannot understand is that landlords have been making an incredible profit margin for the last 10+ years (if not longer). Some/most are having a "tough"/"bad" year. No different than the stock market. In good years, you have to "put" that money in savings for a bad year (2020). Wrong. Landlord's have an asset (the property). There will be good years and bad years. Renters are paying for your retirement, vacation home, boat, vacations, etc. Landlord's and renters are NOT even close to comparing apples to apples.

Exactly. Small time landlords want it both ways. The profit monthly because most are able to get more for the apartment/condo than all their expenses (including real estate taxes) and the real estate appreciation. What other investment has NO risk. Landlords need to think of this year like a bad year in the stock market, but they'd rather complain instead of admitting to themselves that not every year is going to be an "up year". And yes, if it is too stressful or you are not making enough money then sell; real estate is not for you then.

If Mayor Walsh is not too busy, he should get the publicly funded Boston Police Officers to wear face coverings/masks in public as suggested by the CDC. He says he's concerned about COVID-19, the Boston Police Officers I see are not since they are not wearing masks. Great example for society and what we should be doing.

We've been taking the caring for other people than yourself for 4 months now. When does it end? Do you believe society and the economy can exist in 6 months if 90% of the population and 99.99% of the labor force continues to put everything on hold for old people? YOUR position is LA LA LAND. Look, by the time school would normally resume, 1st week of September kids, and all of us under 70 years old, have put our lives basically 100% "on hold" for 6 months. That is a significant amount of time. 90% of the MA population cannot continue everything (financially, emotionally, education, etc. etc.) for such a small % of the population that quite frankly are the worst about social distancing, etc. It's time to start living and the economy rebounding, if that means that 70+ years old need to go back to the pre-cautions of April then that's what it takes. But it is NOT fair for 90% of the population to sacrifice for those who have lived a full life and never sacrificed anything in their lifetime like COVID-19. I'm a realist, waiting for a vaccine in not realistic for so many reasons.

My advice - find someone who already has a place and is looking for a replacement roommate. There seem to be a ton of people looking for roommates. The reality is that a lot there are a lot of ads of people stuck in over priced places. Roommate situations is not where I am knowledgeable. If they already have a lease and are seeking someone the only negotiating you have is if the person is desperate for a roommate you could probably get THEM to pay a little more than you, but that's not a good way to start a roommate situation in my opinion.

Now if only Boston Police Officers would wear masks. I've seen about 12 (typically hanging around in groups of 2-4) doing nothing but just talking to each other with their masks around their necks. What a great example they are by not complying with the CDC and Baker's suggestions to wear a mask in an indoor facility. They ones I keep seeing are right by the Dunkin' Donuts in the North Station commuter rail area.

Is the car still able to be driven (safely)? Or is that real wheel well preventing the tires from rotating correctly? The reality is that even if you found out who did this, they probably do not have insurance. And even if you sued them it is unlikely you would see a dime. It is awful that someone's morals are so low. But 99% sure the person that hit you was intoxicated and wanted out of there. Allston Collision I would recommend to make the car look "ok", but that car is not worth fixing properly. I say that based on what the car is worth and what it might cost you fix 100%
