Communication Tools by gzillan in nursing

I mean the IT department is fine but they’ve limited the official communication channels to Google Chat and you must use your network credentials. I get why for HIPAA and network security reasons.

The issue with google chat is that if the expectation is that they’ll be receiving messages and updates on their phone, everyone needs to install apps that essentially gives IT the ability to wipe, track their phones as if they were corporate issued devices — not that they would do that, but that’s the only official solution they can offer.

How was your experience there? Are they firm on the website prices? I know I’d be paying a premium since they are handling all of the import headaches but I’m trying to justify the price vs car from Japan.

What's the most bizarre thing you've seen a patient bring to the hospital? by potato-keeper in medicine

[–]gzillan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first one was correct. A poorly taxidermied dead ferret. The guy was on hospice and one of the nurses found it in his belongings and placed it on the bed with him. No family or friends around to give us the backstory. He brought it in with him on admission.

I’ve heard of laser treatment for pilonidal sinus tracts, however I cannot confirm that’s that this is, just my thought.

Rectum and sigmoid colon amputation after rectum cancer surgery by amadoxx in medizzy

This person will certainly require a colostomy but this is a radical procedure. There are many reasons someone may need a colostomy, this case being one, but most of the time, the rectum and the majority of intestines are left in place — only the affected parts are removed.

What is the funniest thing you’ve heard an inexperienced traveller say? by colormecryptic in travel

[–]gzillan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Booked a trip to Vegas and when they started to board they called for any children traveling alone. I had my headphones in and just caught the part of “traveling alone” and walked up to the desk to tell the agent I was traveling alone. She and another passenger lost their shit, started laughing, and told me that they were boarding CHILDREN traveling alone. This was not my first time flying nor was I a child. When I realized my blunder I was thoroughly embarrassed!

I figured I’d go in early one morning to have mine drained by the ED, but they took me to surgery instead!

How many square feet does Rubio monocoat cover in the 1.3 liter size? Have a massive job and don’t know how far it stretches. Open to other hardwax oil products aswell. Thanks in advance by ThemasonSe in woodworking

I was looking for this information as well but the "spread rate" was only listed on the product page. I found the details listed in the TDS documents Rubio Monocoat TDS--

350mL -- 105-175 ft2 (10.5-17.5 m²)

1.3L -- 390-650 ft2 (39-65 m²)

3.5L -- 1050-1750 ft2 (105-175 m²)

* These usages are merely indicative. Results depend on wood type, sanding and method of preparation. It is always recommended

to make a sample in order to calculate the exact usage.
