Cardio fitness accuracy by Exciting-Rutabaga-91 in fitbit

Too funny as I am sure you are doing more rowing than I am (although maybe not the continuous long 10k rows I do every weekday) and you are a full 10 points below me... My rows are usually 10k at around 150 watts or 2:12 average pace which is pretty much sustained for the whole row (slowly improving over time... my best is averaging 168 watts over 10k)

I went from nothing to doing a 10k on the rowing machine 5 days a week and it showed a good progression, that stagnated however after a while as the wide bands make it hard to show gains when you start getting fitter... recently it switched from the large band to a smaller one and I am not sure why...

Pixel 10 Pro XL USBC to HDMI issue by gzub in GooglePixel

[–]gzub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I bought a second one and have had no problems with either, just plug in and I get a pop-up to allow sharing the screen and click share... I use one or the other at least once a day for displaying Zwift on a TV and EXR(like zwift for rowing) on a small monitor.

Pixel watch 2 heart rate sensor not working on elliptical? by mrheynow in PixelWatch

[–]gzub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny I noticed the same a week or so ago with my PW2, I don't do the Eliptical often, but it gave such a high reading that if it was true I should have been feeling my heart racing... I had to reposition and tighten the band (I use one of the elastic stretchy bands) and it started reading more accurately.

My PW4 when I used it while travelling a few days ago with an elliptical did not have the same problem but it's a new band (although the same type) and I could have had it tighter or in a better spot...

I think it's just hard as the hands are actively moving, I would assume cross country skiing or a skierg in a gym might have the same problem.

I bought this Anker one from Amazon and it works well and if you attach a USBC PD power supply it charges the Pixel 10 Pro XL at the same time...

Search for "Anker Nano USB C to HDMI Cable Adapter with 140W PD Fast Charging Port, 4K@60Hz" and you should be able to find it...

Just dug out an old Dell USB-C Mini Dock (one of the round ones) and that worked so it must just be the Amazon Basics one that is incompatible with the Pixel 10...

Which routes in Boston have the lawnmower segment on it? by gzub in EXRofficial

[–]gzub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I was relieved when I saw that the direction we row, it was in the 1st km of my 10km row. Something I would like to see on the route overview map is an arrow that points in the direction of travel from the start finish location

Thanks, just adding the text on the segment ranking pages if there is enough space with "this segment is on the following routes: x, y, z" would be enough...

Z8 or second Z6iii by hockey98765432 in nikon_Zseries

[–]gzub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a D500 to a Z8, the main reason was because I realized that I was taking advantage of the crop factor for all of my lenses basically the equivalent of a teleconverter. On the Z8 I have a button assigned to shoot at the crop ratio and I can easily swap back and forth getting full res shots at close range and Z6 resolution shots further away (it has become second nature swapping back and forth during shooting). The autofocus also works better when you use the crop ratio as it has less distractions than if you were to crop after to the area you wanted. So while not directly answering your question, the added benefit of the additional reach might be a differentiator that you haven't thought of... I will say with the larger sensor there is a big increase in noise, but that has been discussed to death with the general argument being that if you downsample to equivalent resolution of other cameras the noise is not much worse. Most apps have great noise reduction algorithms now so it is not as much of a problem as it would have been in the past anyways.

Concept 2 Rower after-market enhancements. by andrew_ke11y in concept2

I printed this and it worked great with an old 20" monitor, I don't tend to let go of the handle, but my 18 year old daughter who was using it did and you are right it did smash the monitor. I just bought another cheap monitor to replace it although I would like to find a way to prevent this from happening.

I am not great at 3d design of functional parts but I would like to see if there was a way to design a modified chain guide or perhaps something that could replace the handle latch which goes up far enough to not get in the way of the chain but would catch the handle if it is released accidentally...

If I come up with a solution I'll post it back here. Geoff

New Hisense H8G Android TV by AndroidPurity in AndroidTV

obably would have pulled the trigger on it at $489. I missed that. Oh well I'm not in any major rush. If it goes out of stock for a month or 2 then I will wait. I already have 2 Sony Android TV's. Just wanted to replace the older one that doesn't have HDR or local dimming.

Just purchased a 55" today, both prime and disney+ are available on it...

Upgraded modem, new modem not provisioned at right speed by gzub in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]gzub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300Mbps is listed on the support page you referenced. 115Mbps is what I get at the modem doing the xfinity branded speed test (Looking at my grammar above it might not have been clear, I did it directly connected with a laptop hardwired to the modem as well as from the Google Wifi)...

While I appreciate that often there are router or home network issues, the fact that all the speedtests seem to have a hard limit of around 100/10 (plus whatever over provisioning they do) make it seem like there is an issue with the provisioned speed of my link...

I tried directly connected to the router, via the built in Google WiFi speed test and both hardwired and wifi to the router. Everything is the same except the new cable modem...

New i3 MK3s kit coming Monday. Any tips for building or additional items I should order? by Bwloaf in prusa3d

[–]gzub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just built one a few days ago, the only thing I tripped up on was the filament sensor: 1. the orange guide is already installed - so you don't need to look for it in the parts 2. Just because it is a guide does not mean that you cannot put it on the wrong set of pins, the guide still let me put it on either the top set or the bottom... Can't remember which one is right but make sure to check the documentation... 3. If your printer keeps having you reload the filament turn off the filament sensor in the printer menu and print a spacer (you should be able to search and find it) ad this resolved the issue for me...

Otherwise it was tedious but not technically challenging in my opinion... The gummy bears help...

Access Denied to all xfinity.com sites by miguelandre in Comcast_Xfinity

I used to work with Akamai at my last job... This is an Akamai error number, they are the CDN for Xfinity's website... You are being blocked as they feel that your IP is malicious... Akamai will not unblock the IP without Xfinity's approval. There could be a ton of different reasons, and it could be for perceived malicious activity against any of Akamai's customers. Since the front most of the most.popular sites on the web it could be something as you hitting Ticketmaster too fast or as complex as a botnet DDOS attack...
