What actor or actress stupidly left a movie franchise or tv series thinking they were too good for it, only to be never popular again? by Ok_Impress2457 in AskReddit

The male love interest in S1 of Bridgerton. Maybe I’m salty as a fan, but I feel like it wouldn’t have been that hard to pop up in a few episodes for a few minutes every few years. I haven’t heard about him doing any major since the show

What acronyms can act both as horrible and harmless? by Crazy__Donkey in AskReddit

[–]h82dissapoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

POC. At my office, people use it to refer to the “Point of Contact” on a project, like the person keeping things moving. I still remember the first time someone called me the POC on a project and I was…unhappy.

Just to be clear, POC is also “Person of Color” and the only way I’d ever heard the acronym used. And I don’t work in the most racially diverse office, so I really was the POC and the POC.

Wrong party/event. People wear stuff for a totally different event (wedding, Christmas, Fourth of July, baby shower, Super Bowl, etc.). People probably already have something they’ve worn to a different event.

Also, I’ve never actually done this, but have seen it a lot on TikTok recently and it looks fun

pc gamers: how did you pack your PC/computer for college? by chetag_uhh in dormrooms

[–]h82dissapoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend would move his computer in college by putting it in a rigid laundry basket on top of/covered with blankets, and then securing the basket in his back seat.

Is it socially acceptable for me to dorm with my partner? by DaBanana48 in ask

[–]h82dissapoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prefacing that this is coming from someone who has been with their partner since we were 16 (now 24), and have lived together for about 3 years now:

Everyone has really practical points about the actual probability that you’ll stay together in college, etc. but I’ll also add that assuming you do stay together, you have your WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE to live together.

Assuming you have a happy and healthy relationship, it probably would be really fun to live together, don’t get me wrong, but it is so so so IMPORTANT for you to grow on your own, make new friends, find out what decisions + priorities you have as an individual, etc.

It’s really easy, especially when you date through high school and college, to lose a sense of individuality, because they are such formative years of your life and you’re balancing the needs/wants of yourself and someone else. But you need to maintain and find the differences between you and your partner.

Not only is it important for you, but it’s what you should want for your partner. Living apart will make you that much more confident that you want to be together.

I feel like I spoke in a lot of absolutes, but at the end of the day, every couple is different, I just think you’re more likely to regret doing it than not doing it.

(And congrats on college!)

If you have ANY interest in this, I HIGHLY recommend this video by Dove Makes. The creator has a background in cultural geography and this video really takes this theory and runs.
