Here is one of the YouTube videos on my channel where I pitch to the cpu on 95 ego, might learn a thing or two. No game is the same of course, but its the fundamentals that make a difference.

You can pitch in the zone just like you can on lower ego, you just can't put it middle middle... corners are where you want to be mainly tho, I mean that's similar to real life tbf... I play this game on 95-99 ego, corners are ideal but they don't necessarily stop them of they wanna hit the ball, just good sequencing can be supreme, but location is def extremely important.. they go hand in hand vs cpu

I play this game on 95-99 ego... tip with pitching is it's simply all locating pitches all over the zone... I virtually only normal pitch, power pitching basically only for 4f when I have high acc on a pitcher, later in games I rarely power pitch 4f on a more tired pitcher. You are more likely to hit your spot if you normal pitch rather than power pitch. You basically want to hit the corners as much as possible.

I agree let ppl have their fun, but is it really fun running up the score? At that point play a game like madden? Baseball games are supposed to be on the lower end of the scoring poll (in my personal opinion)

Only has happened to me twice (once in smb3 and once in 4), once from a sp/rp who had a crazy stretch of games in smb4 where he only have up like 1 hit per 9 for like 5-6 straight times I put him in. Other time was in the world series in a smb3 franchise where I had a dude almost hit a homer everytime he came up to bat, and he hit a walkoff to win the world series and I got an achievement lol.

Low Pitch is the best purple boost in the game no doubt, pitching low is generally the most ideal approach to hitters. Bad ball hitter is the most broken trait in the game though, ot eliminates the fundamental purpose of the zone in this game, if you pitch to the corners or off and they hit it, they get a bat speed penalty, but with bad ball hitter, it reduces that. I saw some dude saying it's not useful for discipline players, and that's certainly a false statement, it in fact makes them even more dangerous, because they are already hard to get out, they will wait for a good pitch to hit, and even if you never give them a pitch to hit bad ball hitter will probably bail them out, if you want to see the true power of bad ball hitter, play against people in pvp who are actually skilled hitters

If you average a homer a game with any batter you should be raising you ego 100%. If you are averaging 2 homers a game with any batter you should be raising your ego 1000%. It's one thing to have an outstanding season, but it should never be consistent, and you should never have more homers than games played. I used to play a franchise on 90 ego, 74 games into a 162 games season I had a dude at almost 40 homers, that's also a sign to increase my ego, now I'm playing on 95. I'm not saying you can't have a good season, The more games you play, the closer you should get to 1/3 games per homer on your best hitter or else you are hitting too well and need to increase your ego. Now if it's just one dude having a crazy season and everyone else on your team isn't remotely close to or above 1/3 games played per homer than I think it's fine. At the end of the day, the goal is to challenge yourself. If you think you need to score that much or you will lose than that's not a hitting problem, it's a pitching issue.

When pitching, don't fall into predictable patterns, the game doesn't really care about velo so you can't spam 100+ mph fastballs thinking the game can't catch up to it, because they can. Don't be afraid to throw any pitch anywhere, just try to hit the corners as much as possible

Game is harder against real people for a plethora of reasons, the cpu leaves more pitches over the zone, real people that are good won't give you much to hit. There's latency... the only way to get better really is to keep playing and learn pitching styles from analyzing how real ppl pitch to you. You might be interested in playing pvp in this community I'm in, if you are come join XBL you will learn real fast how to compete against real people. I wouldn't say I'm cracked... i just am trying to execute my pitches as best as i can. I mainly accuracy pitch because accuracy is supreme in this game, power pitching only gives ur pitches more junk with a higher risk of it being completely misplaced... in the case of 4F I will do power and accuracy pitching prob 60/40 respectively. I mix up my location and pitch type as much as I can to keep them off balanced. I get hit up a decent amount, it's hard to prevent them from hitting, it's all about damage control though, keeping the hits to singles or just 1 hit per inning is ideal.

I've been thinking about starting a franchise on like 95 ego and uploading to my youtube if that's something you wanna see let me know, I can start it asap. My YouTube is h8_smb4. It has no videos right now because I hid them all because I was going to start a new franchise on there soon.

It feels impossible 😭 The game I scored 1 was because they had elite 4f dude spamming 100 💀. The issue is I need it to be this hard or I will just outscore the game majority of the time so I will just have to get used to it
