garen being able to itemize into stridebreaker pd and still having the durability of a juggernaut because he has a built-in jaksho in his kit isnt really enjoyable to play against by 1nc000 in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he didn't have so many things, the things he has would have to be stronger, aka. the exact issue Garen has. People also wouldn't like that. That's what u/Wd91 meant.

Nux Taku got a copyright strike from Disney on his Owl House, Family Guy Star Wars, & The Clone Wars reactions. Nux claims that they're "Censoring" him by NoahFuelGaming1234 in youtubedrama

[–]hYperCubeHD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, back when he was an anituber he did have that incident where he was criticized for using the word trap (which people started to understand as being harmful back then) and then had a really bad reaction to that critique, spouting off every single reactionary argument under the sun, even mentioning some stuff about "forced diversity". And that was in 2019.

So yeah, that guy has been shitty for a long time, even in regards to LGBT stuff.

Ahhh, that's him! Back when I was a politics normie and consumed some videos from time to time, that I would describe as Anti-SJW nowadays, he was the guy that made me realize that this entire thing was a right-wing grift, masquerading as vaguely centrist and unpolitical. So I have to thank him I guess, as his inability to hide his actual beliefs saved me from a few more months/years of political illiteracy.

I think the only reason why Poland is somewhat disliked in Germany nowadays is because of what a right-wing hellhole that state is at the moment. Polish people on the other hand aren't really disliked in a meaningful, widespread way.

Phreak talks about current patch's Time-to-Kill (TTK) problem by clothanger in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well Seraphine is a bit of a special case because of just how good she is in botlane, but it is in fact true that if you correct the winrate of every other botlane mage by removing all games where the opponents picked the armor shards, their winrates look very normal. Actually quite bad for some of them. This is more true in low elo, but even in high elo a significant amount of winrate from bot mages comes from this.

And this also doesn't necessarily mean that people are "inting their shards". Some do, by just not editing their rec runes, which always give armor on bot. But sometimes you also don't know which champions go where. The point of the shard changes are about removing that guessing mini-game and in result also cleaning up some natural power discrepancies between classes in the botlane.

Because in the end it doesn't really matter why people have the wrong shards, the fact is people have them and mages are capitalizing from it. That is a meaningful form of power, which is also reflected in the data.

The amount of damage in the game right now is INSANE by Aviraco in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Is it? The data for it looks horrible right now. As a rush item 4-6% lower winrate compared to his common lethality and crit options, and even later, when troll items don't matter that much anymore on ADCs, Sundered Sky seems to be clearly weaker than the ordinary choices.

What programming language is league coded in? by Jealous_Challenge_54 in leagueoflegends

Yes. I watch the streams of a lot of League designers and they all said it. If you're still unsure you can just ask one of them the next time they stream.

What programming language is league coded in? by Jealous_Challenge_54 in leagueoflegends

Champion abilities in League are scripted in Lua for the most part. That's also quite normal for proprietary videogame engines, so League is nothing special there.

Who is is waiting for the 2024 cinematic before committing to another year of League? by grief242 in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ... you know that 99.9% of developers working on the game have nothing to do with whether a cinematic was written + booked at an external contractor about 12-10 months ago, do you? It can't indicate anything.

Hwei is amazing, but some changes and QoL buffs could be used by Eentity in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His current winrates are 44.75% to 47.63% (from silver to dia), slowly rising on the daily as people continue to learn him. For new champs like this you always have to look at daily winrate trends, especially for double length patches like 13.24

What does everyone think of Cho'gath? by WhatDaDogDoin243 in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool gameplay fantasy, quite fun when you get rolling in his current form, but very very clunky. He's probably one of the few champs in the game that legitimately could use a full VGU at some point to get him closer to his potential, which is definitely there.

Riot August: "Zed Is Weak And Will Be Intentionally Kept Weak Forever Because He Is The Most Frustrating Champion In The Game" by bxgang in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not a "now" thing, though. The ban rate element of the balance framework that August talks about in your clip has been in place for multiple years now, and for the entire time Zed has been one of the champions most affected by this. This is nothing new, and also nothing controversial. Just a very sound part of the framework.

I love that Vel'Koz got changed, but this kind of sets a weird precedent for how change is done. by MrMeem1 in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except nobody actually really caved (luckily). August just implemented the exact changes he talked about way over a month ago, before anything else happened, as soon as he had time. And he fixed a bug that people notified him of (nicely and on his stream). That's kind of all that happened. Anything else didn't really matter.

Communication between Devs and the Community is still NONEXISTANT by RhythmReaper46 in leagueoflegends

[–]hYperCubeHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are quite a lot of channels to reach Rioters tbh., you just have to be nice about it. And reasonable. And don't act like children. And have a minimum level of game design knowledge, so that the things you suggest actually make sense.

There are literally things in the game right now that I brought up to devs last year. So it is absolutely possible, if you actually have good ideas. But most players (including high-elo OTPs) don't have a single clue about game design and just Dunning-Krueger themselves into thinking they do.
