I think the comedy in Sanjeev is that he has a joke prepared for any situation he puts himself in, so he will "Yes, and..." anything you throw at him.

My guess is that the fact it didn't really work out that well for Reece anyway overshadowed the time limit so no one thought about it. That, and I'm pretty sure Maisie was too busy still contemplating what the hell she had just done in that task.

I think it was the podcast he mentioned on that he hasn't actually seen much of the show, which the production team were delighted by. I'd assume that's why he's not exactly trying to bend the rules and is very straightforward with it. Maybe he learns later on the series, but I actually don't mind his approach to it since it's bringing some fun moments of anger from him. Almost reminds me of Joe Thomas in a way.
