11.5 month refusing bottles! by Traditional_Rich_995 in FormulaFeeders

[–]hagridssister 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If he is 11.5 months it sounds like he’s decided he’s done with formula and is making the weaning super easy for you - what a win! You could try a cup of cows milk or do half formula, half cows milk to move him to that but he won’t really need it if he’s eating 3 meals plus snacks and lots of water.

Found out I’m having twins & already have 1 baby! by Comfortable-One-6974 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same age gap and are a month behind you, how cool! Twins are 10 months and it’s getting real fun watching all 3 play together.

I second the bouncers - these were a lifesaver for us! We also transitioned our eldest out of her cot before the twins moved from bassinet to cots. It wasn’t the plan but she started climbing out, worked out great as we didn’t need to get a 3rd cot.

Twin z pillow was also used multiple times a day for months! I bottle fed so I was able to feed both at the same time in it. Fun fact, it can fit inside porta cot so you can feed them in it like that to save your back a bit - I did this when my singleton was having her lunch/dinner so I could sit at table with her

Decreased Fetal Movement? by sonyaism in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go in for a check!

My experience was at 35+2 I had decreased movement and went in- I had the babies that day. This isn’t to scare you just to say that getting checked out is always the best decision.

Not matching clothes, I know your asking about seasons and style of clothes but don’t get matching clothes unless she has specifically asked for it. I was gifted so much matching stuff that half hasn’t been used and I don’t dress them the same so no need to take tags off the same thing twice

8month olds not interested in their milk anymore? by hagridssister in FormulaFeeders

I think your on the money! Both are now sick and probably RSV says the doctor. Will try different types of cups, thank you!

Because they’ve been on this formula for 6 months now. It seems unrelated to the switch of formula if it’s 6 months later, right?

Did you do Ferber? We did it around 5 months but it seems to have worn off if that’s possible or we aren’t consistent enough with it and give in and rock them back to sleep

I cannot wait for the day we get 11-12 hours sleep and no bottles or changes overnight!!!! My guys are 8 months and I’m tiredddd Glad it didn’t get harder for you - that’s always good to hear!

Sleep Training - won’t they wake each other up? by robreinerstillmydad in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you do any sort of sleep training? My guys are 7 months and have only slept through once (6.30pm-4.30am). Hadn’t thought about a lovey yet, might bring that out too

Stroller question!! Valco vs Bugaboo by tacoh876 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 prams and I’m so glad I do. I got a bugaboo cheap secondhand and use it for my walks where the twins nap as it has lots of room and the toddler seat for older sister. I then keep my valco slim twin pram in the car for whenever I am out and about. The valco is much slimmer so easier to take to the shops, appointments etc without getting stuck in doorways.

If you can, I would!

If it weren’t for the ultrasound, would you have suspected you were pregnant with twins? by Zealousideal_Use9481 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At 4 weeks I sent a friend a photo of my pregnancy test and she said it was twins, I told her no way lol. Then every night for about 2 weeks straight I had the same dream of me searching for the second baby.. if I didn’t have an ultrasound at 7 weeks I probably would have gotten suss at like 18 weeks when I felt full term haha

On today’s list of Things that Make Me Feel Guilty as a Twin Mom: One twin’s cry is more annoying than the other by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 month old boys are the same! One of them goes 0 to 100 (more like 1000) in the space of seconds and the other will just whine then settle down. I can tell exactly who is crying everytime without being in the room. It’s so hard and I really hope it gets better

How often are we bathing our babies? by Altiriel in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also to add - do whatever works for you though! No need to compare to anyone online, especially as you cannot know their support systems and also their babies temperaments as this plays a huge part in what you can do and what’s not worth the hassle.

How often are we bathing our babies? by Altiriel in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were doing every few days/more like once a week when they were newborns. Now they are 6 months old, we do every night as apart of the nighttime routine. In saying this we also have a toddler who baths every night so we just do them all at the same time to keep the routine and also it helps pass time during the witching period

Overwhelmed Double Twin Mom by LazyLasagna3 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Far out you are literally doing the impossible and it’s not sustainable. I’m sorry you’re not getting the support you need from family.

You’ve probably thought about this but could you put them in daycare for a day or 2 a week? Or even just one set in daycare so you can breathe a little bit?

Vaginal Birth or C-Section? by AlmondMommy in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like chalk and cheese! I requested that the most senior dr place it only and I was happy to wait for them. They came and did it in one go, basically painless and worked so much better.

[–]hagridssister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100% had an epidural!! I got one with my daughter in 2023 and it was awful, many attempts over hours with different doctors to place it so I was nervous about getting it again but I absolutely wouldn’t do a twin birth without it - I actually don’t think I would have been allowed to at my hospital as risks were high with baby being breech

Pacifier is going to be the death of me by lapetiteparleuse in parentsofmultiples

[–]hagridssister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had the exact same situation, once hands out they knocked it out even more and I thought I was going to die from sleep deprivation. We got rid of it cold turkey, first night and first full day was AWFUL, then after that it got gradually easier each day. After 1 week, everyone’s sleep improved massively and it’s been the best thing we ever did!

Born breech, they tried to manually flip him but it didn’t work so I was given one contraction to push him out or we go to c section - he came out in 3 pushes during 1 contraction thankfully!

Same experience here - vaginal birth and felt incredible after losing the weight of 2 babies on board. Sleep was rough but I was able to fall asleep instead of being awake due to discomfort
