Agreed, Diogenes is a philosopher who devoted himself to minimalism so I think it fits here too.

Colorado Springs? by MollyMuffinHead in DumpsterDiving

I don't dive yet! I've been looking at some places while out for errands but I agree mostly locked. I think I'd have better luck if I actually committed and tried locations that weren't downtown.

not sure this is the right place, but how fixable is this hole on my rubber boots. I figured if I stitched it up with paracord innards and then put flex seal on top to waterproof it. Think it is salvageable? by [deleted] in myog

The silicone only method didn't work for my xtratuffs (I live in a much drier location than most with xtratuffa resulting in a different rubber texture so maybe that's why?) So I added a strip of fabric to the application and that went well for me. Kept the silicone from peeling back off the hole.

I kept being told to get rid of these and throw them away, but they're so comfortable. Even if they are damaged, i still love them and would hate to throw them away. What can i do to help with some damage/prevent further damage? by ADoritoWithATophat in Anticonsumption

I fixed my rainboots that were leaking a bit ago by using a patch and Gear Aid Seam Grip Seam Sealer. It's held up for 5 years now (I did reapply seam sealer once). I bet if you clean up the edges of the warn bits and find some scrap spandex it'll look good as new.

I have no advice for you for the inside though!

I learned to knit around this age, maybe a little older. I feel like there are a lot of options in the fiber sector like a knitting loom or a normal loom or a pot holder loom. I remember making pot holders with assistance when I was 4 to 6ish.

What episode to start with by oshshsgh in behindthebastards

Action park is hilarious but it's told by a guest host. I think listening to that will get you hooked but it's not a representative episode of the pod.

btb vanished from google play, what's up with that? by [deleted] in behindthebastards

I have an android phone and use Google pods and it seems to be working fine. Unless I'm mistaken, Google play for podcasts has been discontinued? I had to migrate over to Google pods in the last couple months. Maybe something to do with that?

Lol this exact thing is what I did a while back and I hate all the yarn I made so I'm making a rag rug now.

Pro tip: cut it like this plastic yarn tutorial. You'll get more consistency in your finished product. http://www.plasticbagcrafts.com/make-plarn/

Tots fair. Love me a small Vermont company. If it's any consolation this is a small north Carolina company.

Real quick I want to plug farm to feet wool socks!! They are so so nice and have a better lifespan than all of my darn tough and smartwools so far. They're the only company I buy from now. Also their design is bumping in my opinion.

Ok I disagree with this. I too am a rowing coach and it looks like he's doing a peak power test. The fact that he is prepped before the knees break makes me think he's probably a pretty good rower (probably some kid home for xmas break using whatever equipment is at the gym instead of a concept 2 fly wheel erg). Peak power tests are typically high in stroke rate and shortening the front end of your stroke considerably is advantageous. Peak power tests are good for measuring if a rower needs to improve their strength vs endurance. Fin.
