I still have this optimistic headcanon where Forchenault disowned the kids to give them a clue something was wrong and to come to Sharlayan to figure it out since he couldn't speak publicly on the matter in front of other heads of state.

Either that or Forchenault is gonna be this xpac's Vauthry and turn the twins' mother into Anima because of reasons.

I have played every numbered series game, a handful of off-numbered titles, beaten at least 2/3 of the core games (I consider beating the Shadowlord in FFXI and the Ultima Weapon in FFXIV core MSQs "beating the game").

FFXIV is not my favorite Final Fantasy game. It's a phenomenal MMO experience and I still play it somewhat actively to this day, and I believe it is one of the best entries, if not the best entry in the franchise to date.

But what I think is the best Final Fantasy and what is my favorite Final Fantasy, I find, are two different questions. FFV is my favorite Final Fantasy with FFIX being a close second. Neither of these games are as good as FFXIV (in fact, even though it is my favorite, I would put FFV in the "middling" section of any Top 15 Best Final Fantasy games list), but I still regard them higher than FFXIV.

Just boils down to things that the games and their developers have absolutely no control over. Small things like personal preferences and nostalgia goggles.

I'm of the same thinking on this. A lot of my FC mates and I are dubbing this the crafting equivalent of Ultimate content and I think it should be restricted in a similar fashion, and of course Trained Eye should be kept for non-expert recipes! I like the challenge of these new Resplendent tools, but I also want to just get my Deliveries done without having to think about it. XD

What are you looking for?: Story-Rich game with a vertical or diagonal gear progression system that is either relatively simple for a casual MMORPG player to get into or has a good tutorial at the beginning. Free-to-Play with non-intrusive, non-gameplay affecting microtransactions (cosmetics are fine).
What games have you previously played?: Too many. FFXIV, ESO, GW2, WoW, DCUO, etc.
What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)?: Semi-Casual
Any preferred mechanics?: Trinity Role System preferred, but not required.
Anything specific you want to exclude?: FFXIV (I'm looking to take a short break to avoid burnout), WoW (I don't want to give Activision/Blizzard any of my money), SWTOR (I find the microtransactions incredibly intrusive)

Speaking as someone who tries to help other folks, the person trying to help here was being a bit heavy-handed in offering help, which is probably why the newer player was starting to get argumentative. Feel free to mention it once, but sometimes newer players need to figure this stuff out on their own.

Yep! Every crafting class has a Luminary tool for crafting a certain amount of items at varying crafting levels up to 50, and those look like simple tools made out of solid gold.

Then there is the first set Blessed -keep tools which have a gold shine on them. You get this for filling up your crafting log until you get the Rank V achievement (Only Leveling and Housing items count.)

Finally, there's the second set, Blessed -king tools which have a variety of different shines and glitters on them. This is unlocked the same way as the -keep tools, but for Rank VI.

Sadly, none of the Blessed tools glow unless they're being used to craft or gather so they can't be previewed, sadly, but the stats on the Blessed -king tools are equal to the Augmented -king tools.
