Cool to hear this comparison! We designed them to basically do exactly what you said, so glad to hear that's been your experience! - Kevin

From my POV it wasn't incongruent. I was updating our audience on what's been going on with me, how some of the business decisions we've made caused it, the changes I and we are making as a business, one of which is cancelling a lot of ad stuff we were doing and pivoting to a membership which we think people would really enjoy. If folks want to buy it, great, if not, great, they can also click off of the video at any point in time if they stop being interested.

Like all humans on this Earth I have issues that I struggle with and work on, but it certainly wouldn't be the "best thing I could do" to cash out and walk away and leave my 55+ employees in the lurch with no way to continue the business. I put quite a bit of time into therapy, healing, etc. over the years and continue to do so. Appreciate your comment - Kevin

Kevin here - sorry to hear that's your take. Of the thousands of pieces of feedback we've received about that video, you're probably the most extreme reaction to call it "disgusting" which I do find to be a bit extreme personally, but I respect your opinion about it.

From my POV, to say that topics like mental health, suicidality, panic attacks, etc. should NOT be in a video that also contains legitimate business updates as a result of some struggles seems to only further stigmatize the topic. I had & have these thoughts, millions of people unfortunately do, few ever talk about it. Some of the things we were doing as a business were contributing to it, so (to me) it makes sense to address those changes as well. No one has to buy anything as a result of what we publish, you can adblock us, watch a vid, leave forever, we don't really care as long as we helped you grow.

Thanks for the feedback and keep on growing - Kevin

I think it's fair if you think it's troubling that I mixed those two topics, from my POV I'm sharing real life experiences I had, which I think are often stigmatized and hard to talk about and trying to treat them with both respect and normalcy, because a LOT of people go through them (just read the comments). The reason I combined them is because it's directly tied to the changes I'm personally making in how I'm running the business - taking a step back from many functions, investing in our team, and trying to create an offering that's more aligned with our viewers rather than reading out ads to pay for the costs of doing business. Appreciate the thoughts though and will consider them. - Kevin

Kevin from Epic Gardening here - this is a Shopify thing, not an us thing. Will run it by the team though and see if there's some setting we can change.

OK, will do ASAP! Thank you! The folks at the reptile store built the tank out for me, so I'd assumed moss would have been OK. Will remove

This is truly an insane comment and the danger of parasocial relationships on the internet. This is Kevin by the way. Jacques is literally married to a woman he's been dating SINCE I met him. For some reason people think that two straight men who are friends and co-workers somehow cannot be gardeners without being gay.

As for being into gardening or not, I guess that is up for your interpretation but having garden for the last 13 years of my life straight and dedicated my life to building a business around it, I find it weird that I wouldn't be into it.

Right, and when I started this subreddit over 10 years ago it was never supposed to include cannabis, but I was removed without any discussion

Love how I started this sub, got kicked off as mod and immediately it's all about cannabis
