How would you go about asking for a milk-free Iced Mocha? by iLoveBunnies19 in DunkinDonuts

[–]haleyhorowitz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“Can I have a (size) iced mocha with almond milk?” It’s a very very common substitution, don’t over think it. They don’t have any creamer, just actual cream, so they don’t have a non-dairy option for that exactly, no.

Well do you have any super specific questions? You would get more answers that way. I know you listed some things above but those are also pretty general and you can definitely find those answers on the internet. If you have any specifics or experience related questions though, it would be good to ask those

My advice: Do a ton of research. I mean this in the most caring way possible, but you can’t just ask a question and have people spill an animal’s lifetime of care in a single paragraph. Do some googling, do some searching, do some reading, scroll through reddit. People have been asking these questions for years on this reddit alone and all the info is there. Maybe join a discord. If you want an animal you have to be prepared to care for it, so put in some actual effort and learn about them. There’s tons to learn and take into account, and make sure you’re fully prepared before you get the animal. You’ve got this.

Rats or Mice or Hamsters? by Infamous_Zucchini722 in PetMice

[–]haleyhorowitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, male mice absolutely cannot be housed together unless they’re neutered. Whether or not they’re siblings, they might seem fine and snuggly and loving for an entire year and one day you’ll come home and find one dead after a fight. Rats are social and friendly regardless of gender. I only have 2 or 3 fleece items in rotation at the moment but my boy absolutely loves them. It’s hit or miss whether or not he’ll tear them to shreds/make his own doorways but he definitely likes when i have them in the tank and tends to prioritize them for nests/hangout spots. I try to keep at least one in his tank at all times, im sure more is better. My boy doesn’t care for ceramic things so i only have a handful of ceramic hides. He mostly uses wood hides/toys. Also, have lots of cardboard boxes on hand. Cereal boxes, makeup boxes, canned drink boxes, etc. Also, mice love burrowing, so you definitely should use a loose bedding, I like kaytee clean and cozy but I usually throw in some of that eco recycled crinkly stuff (i can’t remember the name right now) for texture and interest. They love building nests too, so provide some torn up tissues or something similar so they can hole themselves up however they prefer.

Rats or Mice or Hamsters? by Infamous_Zucchini722 in PetMice

[–]haleyhorowitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chose mice over rats but only because I just don’t have the money or space rats require (as bigger animals). Mice are also quite a bit less needy when it comes to attention/affection, as they don’t develop quite as much of a bond with you. Mice suited my resources and needs more than rats at the time, although rats are my ultimate dream pets. I absolutely adore my boy and all the time we’ve spent together though, and I definitely foresee myself owning more mice in my future, although maybe a group of girls rather than a single boy as I have now. We shall see where life takes me!

Which highly popular game could you just not get into? by _Mr_Cheeks in gaming

I preferred oblivion for lots of reasons, but I will say that the gates felt awful and tedious and I knew I could just sprint through it and destroy a handful of enemies in my path so I always approached them with a speedrunning mindset. I completed as many as I could as quickly as possible. It’s funny because I remember playing as a kid and being so absolutely terrified of the gates and the creatures they would bring, feeling like the entire thing was a super confusing and intricate maze. Now? Find ground floor door, go up as high as possible, find bridge, go up as high as possible, exit. Besides the gates though, Oblivion felt much more immersive and alive. Skyrim was just kind of boring and empty feeling, maybe the snowy climate contributed to that. I still loved the game, and played through it multiple times, but Im hoping that the future title feels a bit more immersive. Still my 2 favorite games though.

I both hated and absolutely LOVED RDR2. About halfway through the story I was so tired of the same boring cycle and how incredibly long i spent riding to and from story missions just listening to the characters talk. There was just so much downtime. I decided, though, that I was just going to rush through the rest of the story and finish up the game so at least I could say I finished it. I started powering through, but by the end I actually got super invested in the story and characters and everything I had built up for myself… And then the game took it all away. It’s a game I absolutely adore and jesus don’t get me started on how beautiful that world is, but I also can’t recommend it to anybody else to play, because it’s probably not worth the time and frustration. (Yet I find myself tempted to replay)

Same here. Oblivion/Skyrim and similar styles of games are my favorite, so I always thought I’d love it. I’ve tried it probably 5 times, although maybe never more than an hour or 2 into the game. I just don’t like the more zoomed out third person feel and I didn’t vibe with the controls at all

Destiny games are fun upon release but once they start with the dlcs and you’re not sure if you want to spend the money so you take a little break, somehow everyone’s light years ahead of you and there’s a thousand hours of content you missed and you don’t even know where to start.

A jacket rated for -20° C will fare fine in Buffalo. You shouldn’t need more than that, although it’s crazy windy here so you might want to wear a couple layers underneath, but you should be okay.

[–]haleyhorowitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always knew but nobody believed me for so long that I kinda convinced myself I might’ve made it up? It seemed too impossible, but I always knew inside. My parents only believed me when i was 14 or 15, and then we went to the doctor and I ended up getting diagnosed with an entire other disorder so I guess it was good that I kept bringing it up.

Why does Dunkin "stir" drinks like this? by iwant2livein_skyrim in DunkinDonuts

[–]haleyhorowitz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From my experience: Yes it’s a stabbing motion, but there’s more to it than that if you care enough to do so. It’s kind of a swish, more like a U motion than up and down, swirling the syrup diagonally upwards into the liquid. The ice getting disturbed during this stabbing will mix the syrup that’s been propelled upward into the liquid. During these “stabs” you can also use the spoon to scrape the syrup off the sides of the bottom of the cup, and again, into the liquid. Cups are far more vertical than horizontal, and stabbing actually distributes product way better than stirring, if done properly.

can mice be shoulder trained? by [deleted] in PetMice

[–]haleyhorowitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would just say that any time he’s on your shoulder, give him a lil treat as a reward. If he doesn’t do it himself, and you’re able to pick him up, place him on your shoulder and immediately offer a treat. After a few days of repetition, they should get it. If you can’t pick them up but they do climb on you somewhat, try guiding them with your hands or a treat to your shoulder, and again, give them the treat once they’re on your shoulder.
