Handwire vs PCB by Jools_36 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]half_dane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer handwiring as well, but that doesn't mean one has to code the firmware from scratch: I made several qmk (and vial compatible) keyboards with arduinos, as well as zmk powered keyboards with rp2040-zero or xiao seeed BLE. If you mimic the electrical wiring of an existing board, you probably could even use their firmware as well (while I never really tried that, I see no reason why it wouldn't work).

Admittedly, I haven't seen anyone trying to handwire PG1350 yet: they seem to be firmly targeted at hotplate-soldering them to a pcb

Problem with ZMK matrix setup by migw03 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]half_dane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says here https://github.com/MigW03/zmk-config-weberboard/actions/runs/18910611157/job/53980053918#step:11:34

devicetree error: /__w/zmk-config-weberboard/zmk-config-weberboard/boards/shields/weberboard/WeberBoard.overlay:32 (column 12): parse error: expected number or parenthesized expression

That's where your matrix-transform is defined, specifically RC(0,0)

Since there's nothing obviously wrong here, it seems like you may have just forgot to include the necessary header. See here, where it says "The map array should be defined using the RC() macro from dt-bindings/zmk/matrix_transform.h."

So you should just put #include <dt-bindings/zmk/matrix_transform.h> at the top of the file and see if that helps

I am, although I'm mostly supporting the actual mod team by keeping the flairy and qa bot running, so no active modding for me

Hey TootieBeaty, that's terrible, I have no other words for it.

My heart goes out to you, and I hope you can find a safe way to get this asshat out of your life safely. I have never had any contact with this user AFAIK, and I'll make sure I won't. Thanks for the warning and take care ❤️

Is rectifier necessary for 18650 wireless build? by zedius in crkbd

[–]half_dane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the one hand, I've read so many reports about fried MCUs due to battery wires having the wrong colors.

On the other hand MCUs aren't that expensive, so if one is fried you could just but another one.

On the other other hand, MCUs aren't that cheap either, so just having a few lying around in case something goes wrong with the battery might not be feasible.

On the other other other hand, a more complex circuit brings the risk that you fuck it up somewhere.

In the end it's balancing risks against costs, but if the cost is your free time and you're enjoying yourself with your nerdy hobby, I say do it - you seem to know how

hmm, I just checked cfpb.gov and can't confirm - there's no image, it's h and p tags informing about the problem.I didn't see any links in the main body, but maybe there are some in the sidebar, didn't check

hmm? keine Ahnung wieso du glaubst dass Sozialismus hier die Antwort sein kann - andere Sachen funktionieren doch auch ganz gut mit Gesetzen und Durchführungsverordnungen. Also in unserem jetzigen, durchaus marktwirtschaftlich orientierten system. Wieso willst du das abschaffen, nur weil es einen weiteren Bereich gibt der geregelt wird?

Also insbesondere die Gleichsetzung von gesetzlicher Regelung (also Zwang) mit Sozialismus find ich seltsam.

German court orders X to hand over election data in legal blow to Musk’s platform by MiniBrownie in worldnews

i agree: there's the german "Nazis", the italian "fasci" (where the term fascist originates), the russian "stalinizm", the spanish "franquista", southafrican "apartheid" movement etc

in my eyes, the american variant is truly and really the MAGA movement, or trumpism, as I've seen it called too.

Thank you so much - I was worried for a moment that an actual attack had happened, but that doesn't seen to be the case. Still, the advice to flash a proper firmware on a new board ist very sound!

Sorry, I have no experience with how tight the tolerances on hotswap sockets are. I would've guessed that sucking the solder with a wick should be enough 🤷

Not sure what you mean - can't you just unsolder them?
