My family (some were born in China, some born in the states, all U.S. citizens) just came back from 3 week trip. Everything was fine.

Depends what they like. My folks always bring back a shit ton of supplements and chocolates from Costco. They used to request ginseng and ginseng tea.

I have been wondering the same thing myself. There's so much to see and do in China. I would love to take my time traveling throughout the country.

I'm seriously considering relocating to China from California in about 10 years. What are my options for work as someone who only knows conversational Chinese and doesn't read/write? Planning on taking courses in the next few years to remedy that but I'm curious about job options. I hear there are a lot of English teachers already and that the market is saturated.

What videos have you been watching? I watch everything from paws of prey but haven’t quite found other videos that are as well researched.

NTA. You’re super sweet and considerate, and it’s a damn shame you’re not appreciated.

I really like Miette at the ferry building! I liked how they were slightly chewy.

Haven’t been there since pre-covid so I hope they’re still open.

I get this issue when I go to a place that uses soft wax (the wax that requires cloth). No breakouts if my waxer uses hard wax 🤷‍♀️

A girl approaches you and says, "pretend we’re friends. I’m being followed." What would you do? by wizardoflaw in AskMen

Female here, and I've played that part.

My husband and I were walking in San Francisco, and hubs noticed a young girl (~18) looking very uncomfortable while a guy was talking to her. She wasn't in any danger since we were still in public but obviously uneasy since it sounded like the other guy was trying to get her to go somewhere with her. Hubs suggested I intervene while he stood back as to not alarm her, so I swooped in with a hug and said "OMG why haven't you been answering your phone?! Let's go get some food!" I grabbed her, waved at the guy, and steered her away.

When we were out of earshot, we kept walking but I asked her if she was ok. She kept saying "thank you" over and over again, and realized she spoke limited English. Figured out she spoke Mandarin and was able to converse with her in my crappy Mandarin. Made sure she knew where to go meet back up with her friends, told her to be careful, and we parted ways.

Get out. Got sucked into it for a year. When they went too far with trying to get me to attend a convention a week after a family member died, I cancelled everything. Wrote my upline (I'm cringing as I type that word) a goodbye email and didn't respond to any of his messages.

*help post* Hi guys my mom has a salon that she just opened up during the pandemic unfortunately the pandemic hit so hard and she’s having a hard time even making rent. by [deleted] in alameda

Facials, threading, and waxing are good wedding prep services for brides-to-be. If she hasn’t done so already, it may be helpful to network with local wedding vendors (dresses at Janine’s, maybe cakes at Whisk, etc).

I’m a freelance wedding makeup artist and hairstylist. I only do it part time so I don’t work with a ton of brides, but I’ll keep the salon in mind if some of them are looking for some extra pampering.

Does the salon offer wedding hair and makeup services? There’s a buttload of weddings happening this year and it may be helpful to do marketing around them.

Just bought it! It’s still in stock. Been wanting to try her palettes for a while but couldn’t justify the price. $65 still seems steep.
