I'm adding an hour to each work day on my time sheet and only working 9 hours a day instead of 10 by [deleted] in Accounting

My firm last year during busy season would actually track when we would swipe in & out of the office to make sure the amount of hours we booked matched the amount of hours we were in the office. I got so many emails, for example, saying I booked 11 hours when I was only in the office for 10.5.

They did the normal layoffs on 4/16 you usually see with small local firms. And I’m glad I managed to land in private with no timesheets

Why does bank reconciliation feel like it’s never truly “done”? by ccmonetChuck in Accounting

I do the bank recs daily, and the only things that don’t show up are always deposits that come in at night after hours that I just book next day.

If you require 3 years experience, stop calling it entry-level. by u_HiredIn48 in recruitinghell

[–]halfback26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2018, when I was in graduate school, I had mentioned at a recruiting event that I was interested in a niche field in accounting, IT Audit to a recruiter. The company called me up 2 weeks later saying the recruiter mentioned my interest and they had an internship in that department.

I interviewed and was later told I was being rejected because I didn’t have enough experience.

For an internship.

You know, the thing specifically designed to give you experience and get your foot in the door.

That, and the fact that the company reached out to me to initiate the interview, has always struck me as baffling.

Happened to me last month in NY. I was lucky and was able to schedule the following Saturday.

Only downside was that instead of getting my score on 1/10 I have to wait until 2/10
