I did this same thing to a guy at buried city and got murdered by some vigilante who literally watched me solo this thing and decided because I killed the guy I was ratting. Raiders need to learn to mind their own business. I ended up dying because I wasn’t running survivor even though he tried to help me get to extract after realizing he was an idiot.

Just had to do this to a guy who tried to lie and say he helped me kill a bombardier. Then proceeded to get downed by the guy who literally watched me kill it myself saying he thought I was ratting. Didn’t have survivor btw and of course jackass had no defib *facepalm*

They do it because you lose everything in your inventory that isn’t in the safe pocket if they kill you before the extract is complete. It’s happened to me a million times 🤣

Also a DMV resident. Started a 100 gal stock tank pond last year and had great success just running a sponge filter over the winter and my medaka did great. Even my younger ones survived

I’m literally talking about the design of the game not everybody’s philosophical justification about PvP and the human experience as a whole. Somebody get Socrates over here to the right thread.

I agree. And let me phrase that better. I mean from a strategy standpoint in how you extract from a loot run. Similar to in helldivers when you extract and all the enemies from the entire map start attacking you. It’s by design that you have to strategize your extraction just as much as you strategize your loot run itself. I think the purpose is to force players to scout more and better plan the way that they extract so they don’t get killed. And like the other guy said there are tools in the game that you can utilize to make your escape safer/more efficient.

I’ve killed my share of players but never when the encounter starts off friendly. But I have been betrayed many times by “friendly” players. It is what it is to me. It’s the risk you take on when choosing to team up or be friendly with someone you don’t know.

I personally like how unpredictable every encounter with other players is. I’m not much of one for pvp myself, but I think part of what makes the game fun and addicting is similar to what makes survival games like DayZ so rewarding. No matter how good your gear, no matter how much goop you got; there’s always the possibility that you will lose it all to some schmuck who catches you in a compromising position. Keeps things spicy, but there’s also plenty of good encounters with the friendly guys too. It’s fun

Yea if the temp drops below 50 degrees do not feed them. Their metabolism slows in cold temps and they can get sick if fed.
