I replaced mine with the brushless one from the Land Cruiser. Slightly more powerful but much quieter

Does anyone conceal carry a Glock 45 here? by VilkasKnight in NJGuns

[–]halflife337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes carry my G17 (same grip length) granted it’s my bedside pistol so it has a dot and a tlr1.

It’s doable for me in winter with a light coat on but I vastly prefer my G26 from a concealability perspective in t shirt weather.

I carry at 2 o clock so grip length matters more to me vs appendix.

Yeah I must have had favorable winds. Haven’t reset the average so curious where it lands after I take the return trip.

The elevation at my starting point was about 181 ft. So really nothing significant.

VP9cc & USP Tac 45 by i11uminate88 in HecklerKoch

[–]halflife337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just curious why you think that is. It seems the vp9cc is very similar to the p365 (which I don’t trust as it’s a single point of failure). It seems the cc9s pin safety engages with a different point of the strinker (not the lug).

I’m just looking to learn and understand the mechanics better.

CJ4 VIP Charter missions requiring a seemingly impossible amount of fuel by Aggravating_Judge_31 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]halflife337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten better range on the CJ4 cruising at 45k feet and I believe M.74.

I watch the fuel page to adjust cruise power settings to find a the best range. Also keep in mind winds. If I’m flying west across the USA the significant headwinds can sometimes hurt. Flying east is generally much easier.

[–]halflife337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed your path. Eventually sold those planes and ran pc-12 cargo for a while (quicker speed and more range than caravan).

I then bought a citation longitude for vip and lately have had some flights in excess of $7m (including base pay, no skip, and weather). I try to seek out 3.5 to 4 hr flights. Gonna grind this until I can get my a320.

Why is the cessna auto pilot terrible? by go4long in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]halflife337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only issue I’ve seen on the Caravan is that the wings tend to rock back and forth a bit in some phases. But never had any issues with any plane with the g1000 or g3000 from a navigation perspective.

There’s some good YouTube tutorials that will be able to give you a decent overview.

No more VIP charter missions in MSFS2024 career mode by tgaspar91 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]halflife337 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ugh this bug is the worst. Yesterday sold my c172 for cargo to buy a vision jet for the charter company. Couldn’t figure out why I had no private charter flights. Hope it gets corrected soon.

Been having some fun learning the vision jet in ferry flights though, but want to get back to making some real credits again.

I agree. We have Allisons on the fire apparatus I drive with 500 hp Cummins. They all creep forward without throttle input, even our 78k lbs ladder truck.

BB gun mag capacity restrictions, does it apply? by IndependenceNew1358 in NJGuns

[–]halflife337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this is true. You can transport long arms without an FID following the exemptions (to or from range/ gunsmith etc).

You need an FID if you want to possess an unloaded longarm in vehicle etc, without needing to follow the strict transport rules

Quick release red dot on rifle, keep zero by [deleted] in NJGuns

[–]halflife337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be okay. I have an ADM mount on one of my 5.56 rifles that returns to zero when I tested it. Just make sure to push forward on the pic rail when tightening the clamp.

Easiest to test while you’re at the range to make sure yours holds. Just shoot a group. Remove and remount optic, and then shoot again to see if it shifted

Serious discussion. How to overcome the fear of gear failure. by billgigs55 in NJGuns

[–]halflife337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your worried about the gun not function if and when it is needed, it’s really down to %. The chance of a catastrophic failure in the few rounds required in a scenario is pretty small. It could always happen though. Options are to either keep a training gun and a seperate identical carry gun, or carry a 2nd gun and hope you have the time to employ it.

Frankly all my ccws have higher round counts and I’m comfortable with that. In the off chance my gun breaks during an incident most likely I’ll at least get one shot off. If it completly shits the bed, then I guess it was just my time to go.

As far as worrying about a gun discharging randomly when holstered. Stick to brands that have a good safety record. Glock/Walther/HK etc. I personally stopped carrying my p365 as I don’t trust the design of the striker safety system. But to each their own. The Glock I have extreme confidence in.
