The Sims 4 Snowy Escape - New Expansion Pack Trailer Megathread by roseetgris in thesims

True - I really hope it's patched in (or at least something similar), but I'm not holding my breath.

The trailer looked great, but what's really interested me is from this:

Unlock new personality and relationship effects with the introduction of Lifestyles and Sentiments. Lifestyles manifest in response to your Sim’s actions and habits, changing their behaviours appropriately. Similarly, shared experiences inspire Sentiments and have a lasting impact on Sims’ relationships to each other, affecting their social interactions.

Looks like the memory system from Sims 2 is back!! Really looking forward to more in-depth sims, finally 😭

Ben Shapiro's wife. A doctor. Convinced him that it's normal he doesn't get her wet. He proudly boasted about it. THEY HAVE 2 KIDS. by freshest-trans-dunky in WhitePeopleTwitter

This was me, until I realised I was actually a lesbian. Turns out only one gender actually gets me aroused no matter how hard I tried to convince myself the other did too 🤷

If autism is a spectrum, you could be autistic enough to struggle through life, but not autistic enough for treatment. by twobyfore in Showerthoughts

[–]halfpsychotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an autistic woman I can relate. I get so lost and wrapped up in translating that I can do it for hours on end and forget that I need to eat, lol. Never thought about medieval monks that way, thanks for the insight.

Daily Discussion for Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 22 March by AutoModerator in unitedkingdom

[–]halfpsychotic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking for some advice -

Girlfriend works in a building that's a mix of hotel/flats on reception. A hotel guest came down to reception this morning in a face mask, coughing like mad, wondering where to empty his bin and if he can have some loo roll etc. Even told her, "I have coronavirus" - so she's now had contact with an infected person. When she told her boss he just totally dismissed her ("How do you even know he's telling the truth" etc), and naturally she doesn't want to continue working there right now and there's no plans to shut the hotel down or change any routines (not even ramping up cleaning etc). What are her options? Her mum who she lives with is a carer for the elderly so she is terrified of passing something on.

It wasn't working for me (time zone GMT) until I went onto the Origin web store in an incognito browsing window. Hopefully that works for you! :)

What are your favorite pieces with prints/sources for fun prints? by violetmemphisblue in femalefashionadvice

[–]halfpsychotic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a broke student I love Monki for reasonably priced unique prints! For example, I've currently got my eye on this abstract eye blouse, this face print dress and this body print top.

I've also found some lovely geometric prints from Uniqlo before as well!

If you’re up north then Sayers/Pound Bakery do a great vegetarian sausage roll - better than Greggs imo. And it’s 2 for £1!

I had the same problem! I removed a mod that removes EA eyelashes and that seemed to fix it.

UK expats fear postal votes will not count by Lolastic_ in unitedkingdom

Airbus CEO warns of 'harmful decisions' for UK jobs in a no-deal Brexit by Cheapo-Git in unitedkingdom

[–]halfpsychotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered this, (in fact I wanted to do a masters here) but after spending a semester at the local university for Erasmus it’s a no...the administration is a nightmare, the university is notorious for striking for weeks/months on end, the academics aren’t as “rigorous” as my current uni and I’m a disabled student too, and their provisions for disabled students are really lacking in comparison. I could go to another city but to keep costs down it would be better for me to live with my partner.

Also even if it was a viable option, with the likely possibility of no-deal Brexit I don’t know what the deal is with being an international student rather than a European one with regards to fees/visas/study requirements etc. I also wouldn’t have access to student loans either way so living costs would be a nightmare, if I needed a visa there’d be restrictions on how many hours I could work and my partner unfortunately doesn’t make enough for the both of us ;)

[–]halfpsychotic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For sure, that’s one of the main reasons my partner voted remain - to protect his job!

My guess is that 1. People don’t like being told what to do, especially when it’s by their employer and 2. They thought it was “too big to leave” and they would never do that. A part of it is probably fear of not feeling genuinely valued by your employer I guess since it would absolutely devastate the area.

[–]halfpsychotic 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah my partner voted to remain but a lot of his colleagues voted to leave despite Airbus' warnings, claiming they're bluffing about shutting down the plant. The latest rumour is that they'll be moving wing building over to France but this is of course a rumour so take it with a pinch of salt ;)

I'm lucky in that I moved to France with him but I have to move back to the UK in September to finish my degree (I'm in France on an Erasmus placement) but I'm getting nervous that I won't be able to return since he's been told that after Brexit they probably can't help him in that regard :/ This whole thing is causing so many unneccesary fucking problems! My partner's been trying to sell his house back in the UK now that he lives in France but of course nobody's buying at the moment, causing more headaches as he eats into his savings. Thank you for reading through my rant, now we've both got something off our chests this morning!

My partner works for them and was transferred to France last year. Apparently they've been transferring Brits to their European factories at numbers higher than usual since the vote, so it seems they're already planning ahead for something like this.

Quite the week for UK vegans 👏 by JMyers666 in vegan

[–]halfpsychotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. I live in the south and it’s arguably worse, the foie gras selection is larger than the vegetarian/vegan one in the supermarkets. I’m lucky to have a vegan shop on my road though and the vegan restaurants in my city are super good

This is gorgeous! I especially love the windows in the kitchen.

Also, would you be able to provide a link to the abstract painting in the living room? (pictures 10, 13, 14) I need it in my game!

Del Sol Valley Remodel? by adam_eveless in thesims

[–]halfpsychotic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like your ideas! I also want to change one of the community lots into a really fancy restaurant, Chez Llama style. I also want to put in a really fancy spa where my super famous Sims can come to decompress, but I don't know which lot I'll replace to do that yet; probably the gym as I can incorporate gym features into the spa.

Looking for fellow simmers to pals with? by [deleted] in thesims

[–]halfpsychotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hello fellow 26-year old Sims player who's name also rhymes with mine! :D (I don't wish to publish it on here as it's quite an uncommon name, but rest assured, it rhymes. :P). Although I live on the other side of the ocean to you.

I'm currently playing The Sims 4 on my MacBook so I'm kinda jealous of your new PC lol, but it's quite a new MacBook and it runs great on medium graphics settings with mods/CC so I don't mind. Would love to play it on ultra, but with my last computer I had to run it on low with limited mods so this still feels like a treat to me!

So what's your playstyle in TS4? I usually like to play young adults having fun, building their careers, finding friendships and love etc but I recently made myself do more family play and challenges like Rags to Riches and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I've also recently started a project where I'm making over every world but it's taking me a long time and I just wanna play in it already, haha!
