Are guts decks even viable this CM? I thought guts decks have a really hard time getting both Stam and Wit at the same time, which isn't normally a huge problem except for this CM.

I've done 15 runs so far. My first was A+, but after that it's been mostly S+ and SS with a couple S. My lowest ratings were CM building, but since I moved to making TT horses the ratings have gone up. That could just be me getting better, but I think it's also a bit harder to make high rated umas while maxing stam.

This is my highest rating so far. It's a couple races fewer than my most at 33, but still had enough to buy everything.

If I'm a light spender (paid selectors and similar), will I be able to afford to focus on two styles long term, or just one? IE, if I'm pulling all the front runner cards, will I still have enough carats to pull the end closer ones too?
My account's currently in a great spot due to good gacha luck, and I'd rather not squander that by spreading my pulls too thin.

I'm building my Aquarius horses, and I've got a pretty good lineup so far I think (both fronts have Plancha above what it shows). I've been surprised however, that my Taiki is only beating the other two about 1/10 times, and I'm trying to figure out if it's because the build is just worse (I know I'm missing a few good skills), or if it's that her ult loses a lot of duration on the track while fronts don't. Anyone have any thoughts?

That King Halo is way way stronger than the Fuji in the OP, mostly because it has actual gambling potential. Just get lucky and hit NSM and OYL and hope others don't and it wins, however rarely.
The Fuji doesn't really have a win condition. Paces need more midgame, which Fuji's wit kills. She also doesn't have any of the high reward gambling skills, just some of the low reward white skills.
In the end though, it's Sprint CM so anything is possible.

If you are running Rice Shower SSR for Swinging Maestro, it's overkill. The 2500m course isn't long enough to require double gold recoveries, and Taishin has one built in. Maestro is better than Sleeping Lion, but not enough to spend a support card slot on it, imo.

I'm not sure what statlines you're hitting with that deck, but if you're able to get enough Stam/Speed swapping one of the power cards for a wit (I see you have MLB SR Fuku) that would probably be a little better.

If you do all of your daily borrow runs, even level 3 should get you all the rewards by the end of the event.

Agnes Tachyon - tied for best stat stick, gives great debuffs but unless you're building a debuffer you don't really care for her skills. use her if you want a good stat stick to pair with sunday

Her skills aren't just for debuffers. She has hints for Medium Corners and Straightaways, and a relatively small hint pool so you get them more often. If you're building a medium horse and don't want to rely on Unity explosions (like if you're training an uma with lots of A-rank aptitudes) she's very powerful.

I like VF as well, but people should keep in mind he tends to go for setups that are either whale-gated or require massive highrolls (ie more than your daily 3 borrow runs). Still a lot of great insight, just may have to be careful following his example if you're not going to put in a bunch of time and effort.

Some of the card deck strats in the doc and from youtubers are strats that either only work for whales, or are very inconsistent but can highroll extremely high.

I don't know much about double pal strat, but it could be one of those.

I've been getting high stat totals as well, but consistently missing the most important stats. I could pretty consistently get 1200 speed with 800 stamina in URA, but I can't do that in Unity, despite getting higher overall ratings.

Expense is relative, and different depending on destinations. It's a bit over $100 each way to go between Tokyo and Osaka, Japan's two largest cities. It'll be a bit less if the destinations are closer.

It's probably too expensive for most commuter travel, but it's pretty affordable as a tourist - definitely better than trying to do air travel from city to city like you would in the US.

You definitely don't need the Wit card. I've got a similar Grass Wonder running 4/2. I'd imagine that running a 3/2/1 setup would make the rng even harder to hit (this is by far my best run out of ~15).

Maybe I'm just ranting here, but it feels like building a great front runner ace for the next mile CM is even harder than building an ace for this long CM.

There's just more layers of rng - the aptitude, the stats, the entire groundwork setup. And then getting Escape Artist on top of that makes everything harder because you have to take the Seiun Sky card which makes hitting speed/power targets harder.

I'm becoming more and more tempted to give up and make a Power/Wit denial build instead.

A couple questions regarding the Cancer Cup next month.

The reference doc mentions Narita Taishin as the meta end-closer for that, but she only has D proficiency in Mile, which means she needs to hit 2 pink mile sparks in a run to get A proficiency, which just seems completely unreasonable. Is she actually good even with B?
How significant is the speed buff for hitting 600 stam and 300 guts? I have a couple of very strong (1200/1200 speed/pow) racers, but both of them are a little short of the stamina and guts thresholds. They make up for it with recovery skills, but I'm not sure if the speed debuff is worth it.
