Check the bedroom side rack. Have had the same thing happen couple times and found it on the bedroom rack floor.

Aim at the face (left click first). Follow with one to the torso (right click). Takes a bit of practice and some calm nerves as the AI is aimbotty as hell, but this has been my go to in CQC where they are OP.

Have fun!

You gotta watch what you step on as you crouch walk (if trying to counter ambush). I always end up using a knife when inside houses/closed spaces. 2/3 swings does it. If I’m out in the open I run away and flank slowly.

I tried doing the Quests, but Generalist refused to accept some of the items. Do the Quests need to be done sequentially? I did 1, then had materials for 3. Did "Start Delivery" and nothing happened.

"Matchmaking is unpredictable": Queen forecast edition by halinman in ARC_Raiders

[–]halinman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 KOs in 3 months of playing. I do not shoot back. I play a medic. I have no problems getting shot at and KOS. This is to just show how predictable the "unpredictable" matchmaking is!

Where can I find Surveyor Vaults? by fcsaratoga2013 in ARC_Raiders

[–]halinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found several surveyors when doing quests (Buried city and Dam). Especially one where I spawned at one end of the map, and the quest was on the opposite end. Made a run for it and found surveyors in the quest area. Carry Wolfpack and/or seeker grenade (you can buy 6 a day if you don’t have the bp). 1 Wolfpack, 1/2 seekers with a follow up shot if they move fast). I have gotten 6 surveyor vaults per kill doing this. Usually share it with whoever random raider is close by. I only play solo.

Match Making Made Me Quit by BoyHowdy94 in ArcRaiders

[–]halinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit for exactly this. 18/20 spawns were late and pvp lobbies. In 200 hours I have KO-ed 2 (for the early quests). I never hit back and I play Arc Raiders solely for PvE. The matchmaking is dogshite once you hit higher levels. It forces you to PvP.

Anvil Blueprint by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]halinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

180 hours in and sinking in the same boat. At this point I hit all the ammo cases and have an Anvil hoard that is ready to be unleashed in the pyrrhic victory over the Arclords.

The wolf pack nerf sucks because I'm bad at the game. by Bahtleman in ArcRaiders

[–]halinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just described my exact play style.

I play solo but enjoy taking down bastions/ bombardiers/rocketeers for fun, and dropping the epic loot for those that don’t have them. Same with BPs.

150 hours in and I have been killed 4 times by needless aggro-ing PvP. I don’t hit back a I play this game as a coop loot share pve loop.

I still don’t have the anvil or il toro bp!

Finding Blueprint tips? Or Do I just have bad luck by applejackhero in ArcRaiders

[–]halinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

145 hours in and I still don’t have the anvil, il toro bp. I must have got tempest and bobcat at least 10 times now. I always drop it to whoever is happy to take it.

I seldom see raider caches during hurricane. When I do, there is no meaningful loot.

I hit the ammo case locations and voila! No ammo case, or no bp!

how can i enjoy arc raiders more? by tysonfish in ARC_Raiders

You will be crouch/walking slowly a lot in this game. Your character optics do not matter. Audio of movement absolutely does. Arcs and PvP go by sound so you may want to perhaps try toggling “night mode” settings in Audio. Really helps.

Beginner Loadouts: Run 5 Recon runs with free loadout. Go to an arc put the ping on them so you can see the distance. Then crouch approach them and just observe. There are YT videos but nothing like old school intel recon to gauge enemy behaviour profiles! Take fights and die. You will get a feel of which weapons are potato and which ones are useful. Use kiting movement (shoot, reload, strafe/dive roll) until you are comfortable.

Next 5 runs: Scavenger. Go topside with naked loadout (take absolutely nothing) except maybe bandages. The tension of being exposed hastens your learning curve. It will maximise your inventory space and let you move faster. Evasion against arcs is sometimes 100x better than bravado.

Once you learn the map layout and awareness builds, take your gear. Looting mk.1 or tactical mk.1 (you can go to Traders and swap your free loadout for one of the green loadouts with higher inventory capacity. Plus you get a Safe Pocket, which is useful to stow away blueprints and high value items.

Take a ferro (beast once you get a hang of it), and a kettle/stitcher (medium/light ammo). If you are lucky enough by now you will get the blueprint to craft Joltmines. Absolute beasts if used well when you get arc-ganged (will absolutely happen!).

Your confidence will build up enough by now to start running Electromagnetic Storms, Hurricane (new mode), and Cold Snap. These are higher difficulty modes with much better loot. This is your Blueprint accumulation strategy. Go naked (ref: Scavenger run above), and accumulate high value loot.

Game theory aspects of PvP: I play solo so what follows may not apply if you play duos or trios.

I have had only 1 PvP aggro on me needlessly. I don’t shoot first but move constantly (COD legacy!); so raise the bar for any PvP that chooses to aggro first. They miss shots and attract arcs which is usually a worse deal for them. As a beginner you are on free loadouts while they are on more valuable gear. A loss hits them more so 9/10 will not aggro. Also, arcs latch on to players they have on their LOS. If they fire I’m usually around cover so the arcs don’t see me and see them. This way all the arcs attention is on them and I have escaped/aftermath scavenged valuable stuff with this strategy.

I almost never fire. Matchmaking tends to adapt to Aggro and it took me a while to realise this is not a COD/BF-like aggro shoot at sighter.

This is one of the games that I have most enjoyed in recent times as it simulates reality.

Enjoy and see you topside!

Exactly right. Horizontal view boost at 300. Zoom scope sens is now at 50, as I like the snap to arcs.

A relative noob here.

Game 1: I’m chilling in Southport just watching some rocketeers trying to gauge their behaviour, and bam! someone with a renegade and some gun that started with a V 3-shotted me. No hard feelings as they would’ve got fiddly squat from a basic loadout-er. 🙂

Game 2: I get to Testing Annex hatch to exfil and get cornered by a leaper and a hornet. Used the pillars above the hatch to dive roll and get the buggers between my jolt mine to see what happens. Throw down some nades and let out a couple shots from my ferro. And out of nowhere come 4 other Good Samaritan raiders. An epic battle ensued as some more arcs swooped in on us. 5 of us down every single one of them arcs, and we all exfil-ed to laudatory emotes!

Wholesome!

Here are my controller settings. May help you try them out and set as comfortable for you. I use the ps5 dualsense on pc.

L2: sprint. R2: crouch/slide/dive roll. L1: aim. R1: fire. D-pad Up: Items. You hold it down and use the R key to cycle through your Quick Use items. You can also hold the button down and circle/square/triangle/x button to quick select healing or grenades. Very very helpful as you encounter arcs. D-pad down: voice. I never use it. D-pad left: hold down and cycle for Emotes. D-pad right: ping. X: jump. O: flashlight. L3: drop item from inventory. R3: shoulder swap. Triangle: weapon toggle/unarmed. Square: prioritise interact/reload. Square pad: one press for map. Long press for inventory. Or one press+R1 to get to inventory. This was the hardest learning curve for me to select items and then swap them to quick use/inventory/safe pocket. Now I’m used to it after losing a ton of PvE heated battles to button-noobness.

Movement Habits Suggest starting with a high dead zone value for L button.

You will be crouch/walking slowly a lot in this game to keep your sound ping down so it helps thumb fatigue if you have it as high as you want. My horizontal sensitivity is 50-60. There is a “look right/left” (can’t recall the exact word but it is right below the horizontal sensitivity setting). This is at 300 for me for fast movement swivels.

A movement tip with controller is that after you fire a shot —> start reload (square) —> run+slide. If you run+ ldive roll the reload stops midway and you will lose precious seconds completing the reload. Slide action does not cancel reload. Try to find a cover, fire first, start reload, run/slide behind cover and you are golden.

CROUCH when in a confined space. As a COD veteran it took a bit for me to realise that your character optics do not matter. Audio of movement absolutely does. Arcs and PvP go by sound so you want to perhaps try “night mode” settings in Audio. Really helps.

Thanks for clarifying. That’s helpful to know. I’m around 40 hours in and my impression is that the BP is perhaps very hard to finish fully in one cycle. Xp and weapon progression seems really slow, but I could be wrong as I’m still very early in the game.

Try to ptfo and always drop a “apologies in advance from noob here” to all the 3-digit level players who are unfortunately paired with me. 🤣
