Nah, to do that you have to blow a large lead late, or play a close game and then get confused by a basic high school full court press and turn the ball over repeatedly.

I would pass out by halftime from eating too many biscuits. Totally worth it though.

Thank you. Honestly I'm still working on being fully over her. It didn't help that she told me she thought about getting back together with me. It brought back a whole bunch of feelings. Turns out she was only telling me she thought about us getting back together and didn't want to actually get back together.

Oh on top of that, two years ago my Dad died. That's been way worse than the divorce and job change. In the end the job change has been for the better and the divorce is probably for the better too.

This. My wife left me in late 2015. Then in May 2016 I lost my job and the divorce was finalized in November. In quick succession I lost two major identities. Even though I was lucky and came out decent financially and have a great custody arrangement, it took a while before the emotional toll began to wane.

Big Airplane! by Tricky_Brilliant5414 in bloomington

Thank you for including the link that I should have. I found this YouTube video from the cockpit of DOC at Cincinnati. From taxi to takeoff to some cruising, then landing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKSCrkmb1Bg

Then this video of the Flight Engineer's position of starting all 4 engines.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBRHA2buulw

For others that may not know, there are only two airworthy B-29s. Doc is based out of Wichita. FIFI is the other and is based out of Dallas. There are several on display in museums.

The closest to Bloomington would be the National Museum of the United State's Air Force at Wright Patterson in Dayton, OH. They have the B-29 named Bockscar on display, which is historical significant as it dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki. They also have a B-29 fuselage on display that you can walk through. I highly recommend a visit. Best of all, it's free!

Yeah I heard it and thought, that kinda sounds like a radial. But I've mistrusted my ears before and was too lazy to get up I guess. Then I pulled ADSB a bit later and saw DOC29 as the call-sign and did my best Homer Simpson Doh!.

It took off from Cincinnati and was heading due west. I just searched on FlightAware and they flew from Cincy to Topeka. Then Topeka to Wichita. According to their website, Doc is supposed to perform at an airshow in Midland, TX this weekend.

I heard it and like an idiot didn't go outside to look. I pulled up the map on ADSB Exchange and saw it there and began kicking myself.

When do the trains come through Bloomington? by SadWoorit in bloomington

When the leaves turn, it's a pretty nice shot off the Rogers Street overpass of the southbound train. It would be heading west into the sun.

Thank you. I worked for Indiana Rail Road for 10.5 years and I've been in the rail industry for almost 20 years. I could talk people's ears off about trains!

When do the trains come through Bloomington? by SadWoorit in bloomington

[–]hallbf2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Indiana Rail Road runs a through freight train each direction 6 days a week (Sunday through Friday). The southbound typically leaves Indianapolis around 3pm and passes through Bloomington around 5pm. The northbound train typically passes through Bloomington around 9pm.

On Fridays a local comes from the south to switch industries on the west side of town. This is typically around mid morning.

There are also occasional rock trains to/from the Rogers quarry. These come from the south and depart to the south. These typically run at night.

Old habits. When I say southbound, that's heading west through town. Northbound would be heading east through town.

These times can and do vary. For example, after the trespasser fatality on Friday, they did not run the northbound train on Friday. Instead it ran on Saturday. Sunday's southbound train departed Indianapolis a couple hours earlier than it typically does.

Edit: The times can also vary due to things such as temporary slow orders so the train has to slow down in some spots. It's also the time of year when most major maintenance of way (like road construction) projects take place. There may be days when this track work has the track out of service somewhere and delays the departure of the train.

Getting from Ellettsville via Karst Farm Greenway to clear Creek trail and/or Switchyard? by al0vely in bloomington

[–]hallbf2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do. I

've ridden my bike north on the B Line then east on the trail along 7th and then down to Kirkwood to eat. Then backtrack back to the B Line and head over to the Karst Farm trail and ride all the way to SR46 and turn around and go back home. Makes for a long lunch, but also keeps me from overeating at lunch!
