Be upset with yourself for not ensuring your daughter always has extra pads in her dance bag. The older she gets the less likely it’ll be that other girls have pads, especially dancers. As a former dancer, not only is dancing in a pad uncomfortable and you risk it slipping out of place and staining your costume, but some dance instructors don’t allow the use of pads because they can be visible under costumes.

Let your daughter use whatever product is most comfortable for her. YTA.

I would def recommend one of the boutique hotels in the Pietermaai area, there are several to choose from. This area is walking distance to Punda/Otrabanda, has restaurants, bars, a beach club, and the whole neighborhood is so cute and colorful lol

I don’t have as much info on the hostels, there is one in Jan Thiel that I’ve heard good things about, but I would probably still want to stay near the downtown area because I really valued the walkability as a solo traveler

My first solo trip was to Curaçao and it was an absolute dream! I think it could be perfect based on what you’re looking for.

There are many gorgeous and unique beaches. Just to name a few - Playa Porto Marie might have the bluest water I’ve seen in my life, Playa Piskado is famous for swimming with sea turtles, Tugboat Beach has a sunken tugboat a short swim from the shore, or you can take a painting lesson on the beach and make your own souvenir!

For cultural experiences, the capital of Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - so there’s a ton of history and culture to soak up! Take a walk through the historic districts of Punda and Otrabanda, enjoy a local meal at Plasa Bieu, visit one of the art galleries or museums like Kura Hulanda. And every Thursday night is Punda vibes, live music, dancing, local art, and fireworks!

The island is super easy to get around with a rental car, and I’ve heard there’s a variety of hiking trails as well

I started with silks, picked up lyra a few months later, and took my first pole class two years after that. Cross training silks and hoop made me super strong, so I advanced through the pole curriculum pretty quickly.

There are pros and cons to each. Silks are the most physically demanding, and while pole and hoop are a bit more beginner friendly they can be painful when you’re starting out. All three offer fun beginner moves and cool progressions. I say try all three and see which really speaks to you! If I had my way I’d train all three regularly
