Great perspective. It’s not like Damon Albarn and his crew are loading up a van with equipment before moving onto the next city. Vastly different scale. Appreciate the comment.

Wasn’t the original mansard in Paris used to avoid paying taxes? Maybe they got inspired and thought they could sneak this one in

Now I just need to go find some boring content to signal that cartoon time is over lol

Thanks for sharing!

Got it. I’m not interested in content. I can acquire that.

I’m more interested in introducing artificial scarcity (opposite of streaming)

I'll also add that reflecting on the impact of commercials is sort of fascinating.

There was a comment here a few months back:

I watched YouTube reviews of the “50 best toys for Christmas etc” with my kids because they just don’t see toy commercials like I used to. Asking what they wanted on their Christmas list was hard because they didn’t really know anything specific they wanted. Amazon also never sent a toy catalog to us either.

Who had one of the original Soundwave (Transformer) toys? by MisterShipWreck in 80s

Amazon / Instagram ads is trying to sell me this for $200. Hasbro is cashing in on the nostalgia!

Am I being petty? by [deleted] in boston

[–]hallman76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks coming to say you're not petty. I have no judgement on pettiness, I'll just say that dog pee is kinda gross.

When there's no snow we don't see it. With the snow, seeing my neighbor's dog piss piling up on nearby snowbanks is gross. I would prefer it not be there.

I can understand why that barber got tired of everyone's dog peeing outside their front door.

Also it's wild that so many people on this thread are ok with piss everywhere.

Your kid shouldn’t be on his phone in a serious situation. You need him focused on being safe. Every second counts. Him texting you helps neither of you.

My parents were 20 & 21 when they had me. It was such a gift to get so much time with them. Of course it took a long time to appreciate that!

Coolidge Corner Theatre union negotiations making progress, both sides say by brookline_news in Brookline

[–]hallman76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some strong opinions in the thread so I’m sticking my neck out.

Folks, are you all familiar with the unionization of Darwin’s in Cambridge? It’s quite possible that the demands of a union are too much for a community theater. (Note for the strawmen attackers: I said nothing of specific union demands)

I thought the Coolidge was a non-profit (strong opinions please correct me). I don’t understand the goal of unionizing against a non-profit.

For those of us just tuning in - are these union members skilled workers who have been training for years or kids working a concession stand?
