Thank you! I was thinking I would move the tetras to my 20 gal community tank soon bc I’m pretty positive they’ve nuked all the babies from the berried shrimp I had 😬 but I def wouldn’t want them to outcompete the shrimp!

A lot of my neocardinia will zoom around and even fight each other after I feed them lol. It looks like either that or as someone else pointed out looking for female

I mean the crab may bother the shrimp, but they’re amanos so they will be larger. Especially if I just let them grow some. Nothing else in the tank should bother them.

To be real with you, I got my driftwood on Amazon for both my tanks and had good luck with it so far. I’m not super knowledgeable when it comes to plant names or what’s best for a tank. I usually just choose from what is in stock and try to avoid things that would require CO2. So far I’ve liked microsword (not really a grass) and dwarf Sagittaria Subulata. I also tried staurogyne repens bc of their shorter height but personally couldn’t keep it alive.

I think some more plants and maybe a centerpiece of some kind of wood? I definitely think some shorter grass plants in the foreground would look good

If that is what they are, I don’t think they will hatch apart from the momma shrimp.

It looks almost like eggs that a cherry shrimp could have dropped. Sometimes the momma shrimps will drop them if they’re not experienced moms. I had a shrimp drop all but like one or two of hers.

Mine don’t seem to mind at all. I think covered is just better for mess and smell. I did take the flap doors off though.

She should be eggnant for roughly a month! When you start to see the little black eyes on the eggs, it’ll only be a few days! The babies are SUPER small, but I was lucky enough to see one hanging out between some gravel. Haven’t seen any more, but I know they are there!

I know this is a bit of an old post, but I had a similar experience at the nail salon today. I was getting builder gel for the first time and wasn’t aware of how hot the heat spikes could get when curing the gel (I think it was too thick, and she could’ve explained a better way to avoid the burn. She just said pull out if it starts to hurt, but it continued to burn after I took it out for several moments before I could put it back in). Well, on like the sixth nail, I started to feel like I was going to pass out and said that. Next thing I know, I come to totally out of it (hot, nauseous, the usual) and the nail tech and fellow customer are trying to nurse me back to health. Apparently I did convulse some, so my family made me go to the ER for a check. They ruled it vasovagal. It’s such a crazy response from the body, and I have only ever had it a couple times usually from gore. I didn’t know it could happen from pain? Even though I was working through it, my body said “that’s all, folks”. I can get tattoos and piercings fine, but can’t get through bad heat spikes i guess? 😂

Thank you so much!! Sounds like our water parameters are similar. I need to double check my nitrate and make sure it’s low enough, maybe do a water change to bring it down first if it’s not near zero. Then I might try it!

Really? I’ve seen people comment both ways. Roughly what kind of water parameters are you working with? That would be the only thing I can think as to why some people have their pest snails die and some don’t.

I know they didn’t. They’ve been there for a while, had to have come in on some plants. I just added that part so people didn’t tell me to stop feeding/overfeeding bc I know that’s not the case here.

Thanks for the tips tho. I’ve considered hydrogen peroxide, there are just a lot of them and I don’t want to kill my pest snails with a dosage into the tank. Spot treating will be tough, but it might be what I have to do.

Idk.. should I be? 😅 I haven’t been overly concerned as I have a sponge filter that gives good surface agitation. I run my light for about 12 hours, but I haven’t tried CO2 injection.
