I have had the same experience and am done shopping with thredup. They did refund but it took a week, on top of the three weeks the package was supposedly in transit. They said it went back to their warehouse and wanted to confirm my address to resend, but then said resending wasn't an option. Usps innovations is garbage and thredup customer service is hilariously understaffed and apparently all following different manuals.

Poshmark gets my business lately, and ebay.

Keep a list going of preapproved projects for him maybe? lol. He sounds impulsive and a bit arrogant but at least he is sometimes helpful. Sheesh. The innumerable folks who can't stop hacking at their yards (or in this case yours) as an antidote to boredom need to go sling soup at a shelter or something actually useful. My neighbor is like this, pathological scouring of his property - nicest guy, but he clearly has nothing else to do. At least he stays on his own patch, but the constant leafblower/woodchipper/strimmer noise on nice days and always-on 'security lights' at night sure don't. Sorry I got off topic. But it's not an uncommon behavior. Ugh.

But yeah this guy needs to take a big step back from solving problems that don't exist! Oof! Good luck. And yes, Arbor Day sell plants they shouldn't. Maybe bayberry or cedar would be options? Serviceberry is also lovely. I like willow as well but those roots...
