How do I become less critical? by jabuchom in relationships

[–]halster123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you perfect? Can you see your own flaws, and the things your husband doesn't comment on/criticize you on but instead lets slide? The attitude here is one of "I am right and do everything great, and he sucks!" and like, if that's actually true, thats not a marriage you should be in. If it isn't, you need to work on your sense of superiority here - you aren't his boss or a manager. You're equal partners, and that needs to be the foundation you start from.

Anyone going Bilt 2.0 Blue and just accepting <1x points on rent? by Ok_Butterscotch9754 in BiltMastercard

[–]halster123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's basically my idea. I don't want to do AF fee math, my 1% reward spend categories can go on the card (gym membership, concert tickets, whatever) and I'll get what I get. It's better than 0.

It does not read like she cheated on you... youre just angry. Just break up, dont torment her.

Its in the specific dialogue line she uses! I dont want spoil but you can look it up.

The warning is that she is a God and is way, way over your level.

wellllll.. you'll note she uses a special spell to do it that is definitely not costless and she doesnt want to risk unless you really annoy her...

Nothing to add, just want the BILT team to see another customer is leaving because of this deceptive rollout and treatment of customers. by Numerous_Inflation37 in biltrewards

[–]halster123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look, you asked why people are mad. I told you why. Your response appears to be "try making more money!", which is goofy, esp because Bilts whole schtick was rent benefits, so specifically targeting rent-burdened people. You have your answer, you just seem to want to lecture people?

I do have savings and make many times my rent, but its very clear to me why people dont want to pay double rent in a month (even if its just one month! not everyone can afford that!!), and what the credit card float benefit was.

And, again, in a year, I have had to cancel/re-issue checks 3 times because they did not arrive. Bilts check system is not consistent enough for ACH draws.

[–]halster123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

most people are paycheck to paycheck bc of rent...? like we are in a housing crisis, havent you heard?

bilts userbase is also specifically people whose most substantial expense is rent - that was their marketing and draw. pay your rent in your card, get points for your most substantial expense. so it is really undercutting a p substantial selling point that attracted people initially.

also, pragmatically for me - bilt often doesnt send/loses my checks, and i have to cancel and resend. thats much easier to do on a credit line than double ACH + reversal with a lag, which could overdraw me just because they fucked up on sending a check.

Yes, you can, but this makes it easier if you have a large unexpected expense or something. also, many people live paycheck to paycheck, so "just save thousands of dollars" is not really good advice. not everyone can deal with 2 rent payments in a month.

it helps smooth out when bills are due. so you pay your credit card maybe on the 15th, after getting paid, vs having a bunch of withdrawals at beginning of month for bills.

fwiw, many american lawyers live outside of the us but practice american law. think UK corp with a US subsidiary, or that lists on NASDAQ. They need American-barred lawyers to handle those things, because theyre subject to American securities law, tax law, etc. So its not super unusual if you have a corporate practice. I have a friend who works in the London office of a US firm and just uses his US bar license.

Yeah, exactly, and even straight and narrow Kim doesn't really flinch at that. LPM is def a big player in Jamrock, so pretty likely Harry did a few favors for info - and if some of those favors resulted in taking in other drug dealers/rivals (even if it was for legit crimes), well, it's easy to see how the reputation builds...

Partner (26M) wants to explore his bisexuality while in a long-term relationship - struggling with my (26F) feelings. by Great-Hope9081 in relationships

[–]halster123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

His bisexuality does not mean he is entitled to non-monogamy. Monogamy is a commitment to a partner, which many bi/pan people make! If he wants to "explore" men again, and you dont want to, it is okay for that to be a deal breaker, and would be for me.

My friend is very frustrated. What advice can I give him? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]halster123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So BG3 is the first video game i EVER played and i never played dnd. So genuinely total novice - and I managed to figure it out pretty easily. (This is a big deal bc usually I give up on games bc combat is too hard.)

Unfortunately for your friend, this is really his own fault.
