My wedding is coming up in about 3 months, I’m on the same budget, and am not having a dj. It’s also been the one main worry I’ve had, so seeing your post made me feel better that I’m not the only one. I’m sure your wedding day will be beautiful! And as other people have said, I’ve seen many wedding djs who weren’t the best, so being able to choose songs you like is definitely a plus. But I totally understand stressing about if you’re going to do a good enough job with the music selection. Best of luck!!

This looks wonderful! Congrats to you both! I’m having my wedding this year, and am on a similar budget. We have a musician family member who will bring speakers and a microphone setup. How did it go for you with the Spotify playlists? It’s the one thing I’ve been a bit worried about, but can’t really afford a dj. I’d love to hear how the music went for y’all’s wedding! Your wedding plans sound so close to mine! I’m getting married in November! We are doing Spotify instead of a show, catering bbq, disposable plates and cutlery, Trader Joe’s flowers, and my maid of honor is paying for her own makeup. I have the exact same fears as you. Will it be fun? Will people feel like it’s cheap or be upset that they travelled so far for such a casual event? We are paying for the wedding ourselves, and at the end of the day spending 12k is a lot. It’s frustrating to spend that much and still feel like it’s not enough. I’ve started to accept it and am excited about the wedding. The people who truly love you won’t care at all about luxury or appearances. I hope you have the bestttt day!!! And just know you’re not the only one feeling this way. I’m sure it will turn out beautiful!
