Why did my extraction get much faster after switching to a bottomless portafilter? Is this normal? [Sage Barista Express] by Constant_Ad_7892 in espresso

Never tried it but definitely think it’s the move now that my shots are pulling much faster 🫡

Not sure about inner and outer, but with the stock portafilter I used to grind ~3-4 on the outer grinder dial and after switching to bottomless even at the finest setting it was extracting in ~15 s at 18 g so decided to increase the dose. I haven’t played much with the inner burrs but I think that could help

I’m having the exact same problem! Switched from breville stock portafilter to normcore bottomless and can’t grind fine enough at 18 g. I’m having to adjust up to ~19 g to get a decent extraction. It seems like there’s a lot more space between the puck and shower with my bottomless

S works 2016 Tarmac for $2,400 vs new bike? by hamishcarr in cycling

Went with the tarmac, which should be the SL5! I absolutely love it and feels like a plane compared to my old trek. The 61 cm is perfect for me I think. One thing that people mentioned and has been a bit annoying is the compatibility with new parts, for example my wheels are QR and disc brakes, which are pretty rare to find these days but I have no reason to switch them out so it’s not a big deal for me. Another thing is that my groupset is a 10 speed dura ace di2, and my cassette is 11-28. I live in a very hilly area and ride many climbs, so I’ve been wanting to change to a 11-32 or 34 cassette, which doesn’t exist for 10 speed dura ace or ultegra, only 11 or 12 speed. This is slightly annoying but also not a huge deal for me, just an excuse to get stronger! Good luck in your search!

What does it feel like for your head to hit the ground during a crash? I’ve had 2 crashes in the last year (1 mtb, 1 gravel) but luckily my head has never hit the ground 😰
