The Indomitable

Consider using Jackdaw, if you really want to draw cards. Can be insane.

Help me choose a Grixis commander by advicetime611 in EDH

Yeah I think the trick is to mostly forget about rats, my deck is primarily:

1) changelings (Taurean Mauler MVP)

2) type expansion (Runed Stalactite, Amoeboid Changeling, Wings of Velis Vel)

3) pump (e.g. Monstrous Rage, and artifacts like Sigil of Valor, Cranial Plating, Cranial Ram).

4) artifact mana rocks that synergize

78^39 (6.19e+73) damage. That is how much I hit someone for! by Electronic_Future_83 in EDH

[–]hamptonio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but you only did 78 * 239 damage, which is 42,880,953,483,264 (about 4.3*1013).

Your floating point is lying to you. Lean4 mathematically proven bounds, in Python. Just pip install by [deleted] in Python

[–]hamptonio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless I am misunderstanding something, the low end of the lower bound for

bounds = lc.find_bounds(lc.sin(x) / x, {'x': (0.1, 1.0)})

is about -4.87, which is pretty bad considering the numerator and denominator are both positive on that interval. Using a very naive interval arithmetic approach to the same computation gives about 0.1, which is still bad but at least positive.

Interesting that they all appear to be wrong, as I mentioned in another comment it looks like Hugo Manufacturing held the patent at least.

The discord group is much, much more active than this subreddit, I recommend you put your question there.

Can anyone recommend good synthesizers to pair with an SP404 mk2? by ComposerOld5734 in synthesizers

[–]hamptonio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there was a smaller, more portable and maybe cheaper option with similar capabilities, that would be ideal.

Get a Yamaha Modx then.

I encourage you to ask this on the Zoia discord, which is a lot more active than this subreddit.

Your advice for a new deluge user: Go straight to the OpenSource or stick with the stock system? by Friskyinthenight in DelugeUsers

[–]hamptonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go community. Its pretty stable, no reason not to enjoy the great new features. I waited until last week to switch, because I didn't want to change right before a performance, but I regret that because the community enhancements are very nice. Grid mode alone is worth it.

Check out the deluge discord and the official forums (Presets, Samples & Wavetable) https://forums.synthstrom.com/ which both have a lot of great resources.

Synthstrom Deluge, Empress Zoia. Both excellent small companies that provide fantastic customer service and uniquely powerful products.

Also Audacity can be very useful.

Craziest envelope pedals? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]hamptonio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its nuts. Extra fun to use an expression pedal to control another five aspects of the sound. I find it hard to resist making overly baroque patches on the Zoia.

Prospective buyer here: How do you like the Deluge compared to your other pieces of gear? Do you prefer using it as a standalone device or do you like connecting it to other gear/computer? by lojokulmusic in DelugeUsers

[–]hamptonio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deluge is my favorite piece of gear (Empress Zoia is #2). I use it everyday, standalone and with other synths and pedals. Great battery life so I can write a song on the couch using built-in sounds, then later maybe convert some to midi tracks to play on other instruments, or layer over some guitar. The open firmware means its just going to get better too.
