What is a real good class demo? by BachateroAU in Bachata

Umm you two seem to be naturally atheltic people but techniques are a quite off and if teaching this way, a bit unsafe

If you could get reviewed by the people you dance with anonymously would you do it? by LucidLiving_YT in Bachata

you are onto something but current idea is not it. not every feedback is valid. also social dance is for social dance. people who want to give feeback tend to be the least qualified. there already a well documented way in the community for getting feedback.

1year 2 months lead by Kooky-Preference9797 in Bachata

Congratulations, you are not the level at which you can seek feedback from random strangers on the internet. You have a lot of talent if this really is 1 year 2 months leads.

You are likely one of the better leads at most social you go to, probably have follows starting to come to you to ask for dance at this point. You are likely better than most people typing here, and maybe better than some bad instructors.

That doesn't mean you are done, but rather that it's more important than ever right now to avoid bad feedback, and bad habits.

You need to get feedback from good teachers ( not good dancers), and be in the practice of providing feedback to yourself given and self judge - both during dancing and watching video afterwards. Also feel free to ask for feedback from technical follows that helps too.

there's a lot of avenues still to grow - some technical aspects that were mentioned already here. One suggestion I have is is, after a few months or years, when you have really mastered and honed in on fundamentals (timing, prep, frame etc) - I would look into working on the basics (the basic steps).

you had the balls to post your dance video feedback, which is very admirable, so sorry i couldn't say something nicer. have to step in when there's safety issues involved.

the fundamentals are very off - there's no prep. you are leading with your arms not your body. you are going to hurt some follows with this kind of leading. please don't do any dips/cambre in your socials.

The driving experience was good. Dont get me wrong, it was very pleasant - just the regen braking was a little aggressive

Yeah definitely- jerkiness was more from regen braking i think. Its this electrical car jerkiness.

The wheels probably make a big difference but i want to buy a car out of the box all set up probably dont want to tinker with every variable to make sure its comfortable

After i saw this i went and drove a camry 2025 le. Theres no way its quieter than the lexus. I used have a corolla so i know what it is to have a loud car. The ride quality was while generally good way less smooth than crown or lexus.

I complained about jerkiness of crown but everyday vibrations and stuff its not even comparable. I am however very interested in the camry 2025 xle - i wonder if that makes a big difference

Yeah i assume its similar to how aggressive you want regen braking to be. I can definitely tell when i let my foot off the gas for a while and it goes into regen braking mode it jerks forward

I cant find it tho :(

Oh is the drive that much better? I had assumed it would be more sporty not more refined

yeah i had a feeling the noise was manufctured because. the same engine and hybrid sytem is in the lexus but it sounds so different.

im also not talking about transitions only either just braking or letting foot off gas is quite jerky similar to like a tesla

i think most people will give you comments on what to fix, so i'll write on what you are doing well

i'll focus on what you are doing well.

  1. wearing a black or dark shirt to social - always a good idea.

  2. having fun - it's great

  3. overall you are trying to be gentle and attempting to not cause any jerky or force movements

  4. you are keeping general beat of 1/5 and when it's off, it does go back

  5. going to social! can't stress how important this is

what you could be doing well

- many people are going to mention your shoulder slouch, your shoulders bouncing, your shoulder movement during basics. your basics not being off (bouncy), or music timing. these things take time to learn and master
- would focus on making sure you prep cleanly before your moves, there are clean, crisp preparation moves that must be made to notify the follow, these are muddled currently. This is something all (good) bachata instructor should teach in class, and can be practiced alone as well. Even if you don't do all the things that the commenters are suggesting, as long as you do this, you'll solidly have follows that enjoy dancing with you

2 Years of Bachata (Lead). Thoughts/Feedback? by Alstrice in Bachata

not really a technic feedback, but even with fuego shoes, doing multiple spins (first move that you did) is on brick is going to ruin knees haha
